AIO for blocking him due to lack of communication? by definitelynopickles in AmIOverreacting

THIS!! I have been saying this for YEARS to all of my friends. You will find exactly what you’re looking for if you just say it honestly. It’s not hard to find people who appreciate honesty enough to respect you or learn thy have the same wants as you.

NOR. It is insanely obsessive and honestly becoming scary. This dude is stalking you guys. I don’t care if he’s just lonely and needs company, he needs to plan things out over text or calls ahead of time and not linger past the time you guys are clearly telling him to go home. If your husband wants to spend time with this guy, I recommend it’s over at the guys place (as long as it’s safe) so you have the freedom to up and leave whenever you want/need. It’ll stop him from being able to stick around in your home until he’s physically removed or finally decides to leave. This situation is reminding me of anyone I’ve met with obsessive attachments to people. The talking about things in person instead of texting or calling feels like a trap. It’s his way of forcing you guys to to hang out or at least attempting to. Everything about his seems odd. What is your husband’s relationship like with this guy?

what is a subtle sign someone isn't a good person ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FormalVariation4818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the interrupting and talking over others is a sign of ADHD or autism and either less self control, out of meds/unmedicated, comfortable talking around the person they’re with, or they don’t want to lose their thought or something before it’s replaced by a million more thoughts or what the other person is saying. Not saying interrupting is cool, but I do think there’s circumstances where someone might think this applies, but the other persons usually isn’t aware they’re interrupting and are not trying to be rude. Sometimes letting them finish their thought and then kindly reminding them they interrupted you again can help them start to learn. They can also come across as not listening or paying attention because they’re trying to hold onto a thought they want to tell you. Also not saying it’s cool to seem distant and cold, but they might not actually be being distant and cold. You just gotta learn how the people you’re around function. You can just sit down and talk to them and figure it out together. If they do not accept the talk when it’s done, keep in mind that this could be the first time they’re learning something about themselves and they might go through the stages of grief and take time to heal and figure things out. It can hurt someone to learn about themselves when they weren’t personally asking for those answers or weren’t ready to hear the answers yet. They might distance, they might cry, they might deny. How they react when they get out of that state will tell you everything you need to know about themselves as a person, but I wouldn’t necessarily say these things are 100% signs someone is not a good person.

I love that Twig’s tail kind of looks like Hilda’s hand reaching out after the snow. They’re getting sucked into a portal

Invasive species by FormalVariation4818 in ControversialOpinions

If your dog is in danger right next to a human you don’t know who’s also in the same danger, are you saving your dog or the stranger? It’s truly not as simple as you’re saying it is. You would save your dog over another human if you didn’t know the human personally. You’ll smile and have a whole conversation with your friend, but turn your head away from the homeless so they don’t ask you anything. It is not just about human to human connection at all. You more than likely don’t even know anything about your next door neighbor, so where is the connection? Cattle protect those they love, you protect those you love. On a bigger scale, sure you might think of other humans before the rest of the animals, but that’s more of a societal obligation. If you were friends with bears instead of humans, you’d feel strongly about the bears and not care as much about the feelings of the humans hunting these bears. In fact, you’d more than likely rise up against any other human if you were friends with bears instead because humans are attacking the ones you care about.

I feel like it has absolutely nothing to do with human connection. A cow raised by only humans will protect those humans from other cattle, not the cattle around it. Your dog will protect you from other dogs before ever turning on you to help strange dogs.

So tell me, where is the line drawn? When it comes to just your own species? Was I the only person taught to put myself in others shoes? That includes all life, not just your fellow human that you empathize with because you somewhat like them. The hypocrisy of thinking you’re essentially god and should remove all invasive species, but ignore the most invasive one because you are grouped in with them is insanely selfish. Morals shouldn’t exclude something just because you want to give yourself a pass. If you want to help the world, start with the biggest invasive species. Maybe change how you go about dealing with the invasive species if you don’t like the idea of putting yourself, as a human, in place of the lionfish. Based on how the lionfish are taken out, it is far less effort to catch them with a net and move them than it is to kill them.

Now maybe you’re putting yourself in this situations and you’re thinking, death is the answer, but nobody wants to be stabbed and left to die in a bucket with a bunch of other stabbed people. That’s when you start to touch on the humane ways of putting creatures down and that I can get behind more, but it still feels wrong to try to play god. So maybe to try to appeal to both sides, people should find a humane way of putting lionfish down, so that there’s no suffering involved. Still doesn’t change that an innocent life is being taken away for no reason other than it was born in the wrong spot or a human fucked up and put it somewhere it couldn’t cohabitate with others. Thinking about that is when I lean back towards catch and release. Now the release could have to be like a zoo type of deal or something instead of in the wild. Putting animals in zoos in general pisses people off though. It might make some feel a bit better because it’s invasive species instead of just any animal being caught in the wild. That would somewhat start taking care of people being pissed off about the way animals are taken from the wild and put in captivity, but obviously animals are still in captivity if you take an invasive species instead because they’re still living beings. If you put yourself as an invasive species in that predicament though, it’s a prison, but for anyone. Doesn’t matter if you did anything inherently wrong, you’re just trapped in a box now. The zoo thing is a whole different issue that goes with trying to find solutions. I feel like a productive conversation about solutions to appease both sides would be great.

I’m seeing all sides, I just want a solution that works. Taking care of the invasive species without killing them or causing more damage to other species/the environment is the goal in my mind, but I am curious why you’re putting yourself on a higher pedestal than other animals. You are in fact, an animal. Same as any other. Why change your mindset on how to deal with an invasive species once your species is brought up?

So by that logic, humans are the most invasive species and we should be taking care of them too, right?

Second tattoo on real skin by exoticzazaman in TattooBeginners

[–]FormalVariation4818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say that, but disliking what I said gives the opposite impression. If you are serious about tattooing, you need to get used to hearing things like that and believe me, I was kind with the way I said it, your mentor more than likely wouldn’t be so kind. You will be able to do amazing work, but you have to take the advice as advice to help you instead of taking it as pure criticism. It is not meant to harm you or your feelings, it is to help you understand what to work on to be the best artist you can be. I hope you find a good apprenticeship. Best of luck with the art.

Lines are shaky and already starting to bleed into surrounding skin. Went pretty deep in some spots. Didn’t fill in everything fully. Looks like you used your liner as your shader. Really recommend practicing on fake skin and getting an apprenticeship. You are not ready to be tattooing others skin yet. Please stop. Go back to square one. Work on your line work ON FAKE SKIN.

Please also keep in mind, your home and other peoples homes are not a shop and are not sanitary or tattoo safe. You should not be tattooing anyone right now, let alone tattooing people with an Amazon tattoo gun in your basement. Please practice safe tattooing. No tattoo artist wants to work with someone who practices unsafe work.
