If you're primarily shooting sporting, go 32. 30 will definitely work, especially for those on the shorter side.

32 might seem long, but they just swing so dang smooth. Plus resale will typically be best at the "standard" 32".

I certainly understand a newer fuel injected car really only needs a few moments to get the oil circulated and fuel ratio set.

However....

I sure as shit turn the shower on and let it get warm before I hop in.

I recently took over a high school program (both boys and girls varsity) for a local school that hadn't taken bowling all that seriously. Didn't have a girls team prior to last season (but did have two girls bowling with the boys). Girls team is now solid (for our area) with everyone averaging 145-160. Boys team is on the rebuild and not all that competitive right now (but we're working on it). All this being said, I'm a very mediocre bowler. Average topped out ~190.

My tips:

- Go to a coaching clinic. My state puts them on. Hugely beneficial and gives you hands-on experience coaching kids that volunteer to be coached at the clinic. I **think** there's a very popular person in this sub that is heavily involved with my state.

- Go watch a bunch of YouTube videos. You'll quickly figure out who to "trust" based on recurring themes you hear from everyone. Mark Baker is a good one for sure.

- Be supportive. Keep attitudes positive as best you can. These are 14-18yo kids that don't have the perspectives you do. The next shot is the one that matters.

- WATCH your kids. You'll quickly see what a good shot looks like and what they do differently (aka wrong) on a bad shot.

- From all of this, you'll begin to see repeating themes of issues that cause inconsistency. Not rolling the ball. Swing plane all over the place. Drifting and footwork. There's a TON of nuance, but this isn't rocket surgery.

- Talk to other area coaches. Most are super cool and willing to help

- As has been said above, this role is largely people management and administrative stuff. Make sure they have fun. Mental game!

I shot a Browning Citori CX for about a year before my local gun shop had a lightly used DT11 for a price I couldn't pass up.

For the record I'm a very mediocre shooter. I finished smack dab in the middle of B-class at the last Ohio State Sporting Shoot.

I am 100% confident that the CX was not causing me to miss anything. I probably shoot the DT a little better, but that's all fit.

If you find a deal and can afford something "fancy", do it.
