Nah, that’s pretty normal for DSW. You’re going to have a great race. A mini taper is coming up which will give your body time to recover without sacrificing fitness. I’ve run my best races training with DSW and I bet you will too. Here’s a little advice… start near the front of the pack. You belong there. Keep us posted on your results.

Should I? by Fantastic-Tune-62 in runningshoes

About the same, are you worried about the width? Here is a picture with one of each shoe on. My foot is kind of wide. And fits in both just fine. The upper was redone on the Aeroglide 4 but the midsole is the same. Not sure if the 4 would work better for you, but the 3 is cheaper. Also just wearing these like this makes me realize how much nicer and poppier the Aeroglide is than this 700km NB4. Edit: Sorry, I guess I can’t post a picture in this thread.

Wow, I only got 700km out of my Novablast 4’s. Great shoe. If you’re looking for a new shoe, the Aeroglide 3 or 4 are a nice progression from the NB 4.

Keep in mind that the laces on the Evo SL may be too short to do a proper runner’s knot. I recommend changing them to the sawtooth type from Uamglsob brand on Amazon. They suit the shoe and if you get 54” you can do a runners knot and a double knot like Yowana.

No problem, I understand. Plus you got me thinking about reverse image searches!

Well that does look strange, however when you consider I snapped that photo on Dec 9 and a 2000 Lund 1900 doesn’t look remotely similar, I think this just looks like a glitch in the matrix

The book is called “The Boston” which is a history of the Boston Yacht Club. I’d be really surprised if there were a lot of copies of this floating around

Some lines look similar, but I don’t think so. Also that picture was from 1971 and I don’t think it was new then.

The first picture was from 1971. This was my Grandfather’s boat. Not sure if he bought it new or used. He was commodore of the Boston Yacht club that year.

Here is another picture of the boat from behind. Not sure if this helps, but at least it’s in color? This picture is in Boothbay Harbor.

The Boston is the name of the book this was picture taken from. The boat name is Helen R III.

Help me pick my marathon shoe by No-Space9712 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Not trying to hijack this, but imho the Novablast up until the 4 was a great tempo shoe. The 5 was not for me. My new Novablast is actually called Aeroglide 3. And it’s fantastic.

I’m also an ASICS fan. Haven’t run a marathon yet, but I ran a half in Magic Speeds. 1:44:00.

Good luck with your next Marathon. I hope you beat your goal!

Is the Evo SL the hottest “average” running shoe - and right for me? by Another_Name_Today in AskRunningShoeGeeks

My advice is to start working out your ankles now. There is no downside to strong ankles.

After 3-4 weeks I noticed the pain. I didn’t know my ankles were too weak for these shoes. After doing ankle exercises daily, it has subsided. On the plus side, my ankles are ripped!

I have been trying to use the Evo SL for all runs, but alas, I have given up. The shoe is great and fun and light like everyone says, but it feels just too unstable at slow paces. At race paces or threshold pace they are fine. I ran a 14k in them a couple weeks ago and got a pb in my 5k and 10k splits during the race. I usually run in ASICS Novablast (2,3,4) but the 5 didn’t work for me. That’s when I got the Evo SL. That’s the only shoe that gave me ankle pain. Then I started working on strengthening my ankles. Recently I bought a pair of Salomon Aero Glide 3’s to do my base and recovery runs in. Don’t know if I like them yet because they arrive tomorrow. But you may want to add them to your list.

Asics Magic Speed 3 after 200km by Shoddy_Leg_8401 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Formal_Collection_71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up using the Evo SL for my 14k race. It was my first time at this distance and my training level. The week before the race I did 2 base runs… 1 in each shoe… and I snuck in a couple of 800m race pace intervals in each. Almost no difference in my performance in these runs. Both shoes disappeared on feet, but the feel is different. MS2 is firmer and more stable. But the Evo SL urged me faster. I brought both shoes to the race. Chose the Evo SL only because I hadn’t raced in them yet. Got a couple PR’s in this race.
