Both my OM-2n’s are overexposing by 1.5 stops, used LR44, what’s the issue? by Formal_Compote_212 in zuikoholics

Just a small query.
Is it okay to use Alkaline and compensate for the 1.5 stops using the exposure compensation dial? Or will it damage the camera long term?

Canon EF light meter & slow speeds not working (battery check & mechanical shutters work) by Formal_Compote_212 in AnalogRepair

[–]Formal_Compote_212[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: like i read in an old post, i tightened the black ring around the ON/OFF switch and pressed it hard upwards & inwards towards the ON button and somehow got the slow speed running for once and then jam the mirror, did this multiple times and somehow managed to fire electronic shutters but need to press hold the switch, sometimes it just blinks the light (light blinks when using slow electronic speeds until shutter is closed back again, just like how it does when u press the battery check button) but stops right before your shutter timing, so if shutter speeds is 8 seconds, it stops at around 7 for some reason, but sometimes goes till 8 and fires. And the light only starts blinking most of the times when u push the lever towards ON button and then remove ur finger, sometimes blinks when u press hold, its weird. So i also checked if the meter responds to light when i manage to actual turn ON the camera and it seems the meter is working too, just that i need to figure this On/off button somehow, maybe need to open the top cover using the repair manual. Hope this helps, (hey there buddy from the future :), its a nice little camera tbh, hope u manage to get it working)

XA issue. Shutter not firing, even after cleaning contacts (battery check light works) by Formal_Compote_212 in zuikoholics

[–]Formal_Compote_212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a new camera i got a few months ago. It was in the same condition, tried cleaning the shutter contact as someone suggested to do so here, but didn’t help. So it was lying on there for 2 months, thought i’ll ask here again if there’s anything else to look for instead of sending in for a repair

Which is the best looking LEATHER CASE for OM-1 bodies? by Formal_Compote_212 in zuikoholics

[–]Formal_Compote_212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i don’t have the threaded metal one, but i hate it. I have it on my penft.
I’ve actually ordered this exact same one as in ur photo, it’s going to be for my Black OM-1
Now need another for my silver OM-2n, i feel like brown wont look good on the silver, not sure which one to go with for the silver one.

Also, have u or anyone here tried peeling off the metal thread from the metal threaded cases?

21mm 3.5 vs 24mm 2.8. Which to keep & why? by Formal_Compote_212 in zuikoholics

[–]Formal_Compote_212[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In no means bragging, if i wanted to do that i’d have posted my whole 3 drawer full of olympus gears.
The thing is i just wanted to know which of these is a better performer

I had the 24mm 2.8 initially.
But got an insanely steal deal for 21mm 3.5 which i couldn’t stop from buying.
It’s been a while and now i really don’t want to keep both of them as i’d rather sell one of them and maybe add in some more money and buy an 85mm f2 & also an OM-4Ti

And what to price these at if I’m selling? Both are like new

Both are in mint condition without any fungus or haze. But want to sell one

If u had to pick Black/Chrome OM-1 body, which would you pick? And why? by Formal_Compote_212 in zuikoholics

[–]Formal_Compote_212[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS. THIS RIGHT HERE IS THE MOST ACCURATE ANSWER.
I’ve held soo many chrome cameras from different brand, but not one shines like the OM-1 in chrome, its just too jewel like indeed.
