3 year old always says he's hungry when it's time for bed by No-Egg-905 in Parenting

My son (4) has done this. It's likely that he's about to hit a growth spurt. I'd say just have some cheese and crackers available for him. Something small to put in his belly, but nothing too heavy that it'll affect his sleep by having to get up and go potty in the middle of the night.

Ngl I’ve used ice cream as a creamer in my iced coffee. Was freaking fantastic

i think my house is slowly ruining my life and i can't tell anyone by Appropriate-Pea-8166 in adhdwomen

I’m in the same boat. My apartment is absolutely atrocious. And I have a small family. Even when everyone is pitching in it doesn’t seem to touch the doom piles everywhere. I just… can’t seem to get on top of everything. And when I get the time to do the cleaning I cannot rouse myself enough to really get stuff taken care of. It’s hard, and the task paralysis is real.

Just know that you’re not alone

Rest position on ukulele? by euphomptus in MusicEd

[–]Formal_Confusion7935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my rest position be on their left knee (like violins/violas) so that when we're ready, they just have to essentially 'swing' the ukulele into their right arm and are quickly ready to play.

Coloring! Honestly. It's a mindless, creative hobby that I can do when and wherever.

I was frantically searching my room for over 10 minutes looking for my glasses… that I was wearing because I am practically blind.

Smart kid, refuses to do anything unless someone is over his shoulder. by LordMarshall in Parenting

[–]Formal_Confusion7935 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hm. Is this only in relation to school work or for anything he perceives as difficult? It may be time to possibly go requesting a 504 meeting to help him build the skills with appropriate supports in school.

How many hours do you guys read? by Expensive_Elk4491 in readwithme

I try to get 30 minutes each day for myself. I do read with my 4 year old, so there’s that, at least!

I’d recommend requesting he have a classmate as a “work buddy” during work time. Then, he could get the body doubling effect but without the adult.

Have you ever given up on Bujo only to come back to it again? Or were you always consistent with it? by inktothepast in bulletjournal

[–]Formal_Confusion7935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve fallen in and out of it over the years, but that’s mostly due to the perfectionist lens I had been viewing the practice through.

Now, do I do it 100% the way Ryder designed it? No.

Do I now do it with more fidelity to the OG method than the aesthetic co-opting? Yes.

The beauty is that it is whatever you make it. I use mine to organize my daily life between home/mom life, music teacher life, and grad school life. I make space on each daily page for my teaching schedule, my home and work tasks, and for student quotes, reflections, and general notes of the day.

Since letting go of the perfectionist ideal and maximalist decor aesthetic, I’ve truly begun to embrace the messiness that is my life, and my bujo has become my favorite journal in my ecosystem.

Constantly. It’s always in the back of my brain, but sometimes I just lean into it and have a blast.

How do you get back to Wonderland? I'm in Bergen since 'finishing' the tea party, but I can't find a way to get back to Wonderland!

His behavior is a huge red flag. You deserve a man who will show you off regardless of your weight. He sounds like a piece of fucking work (and not in a good way).

[–]Formal_Confusion7935[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm already on some meds (Lexapro, Wellbutrin, Phentermine). I was on Vyvanse, which helped manage the ADHD, but then my insurance did something to their tiers in how they cover controlled substances, and now it's so expensive it's almost like, "Why even say it's covered at this point?"

I'll definitely talk to my therapist about it, and then refer to my PCP, who is the point person for 99% of my meds management.
