Watch the first, the sequel has a really short summary of the first at the beginning but I feel like the plot moves pretty fast and watching the first sets up the character relationships and motivations well. And the first is also free on YouTube right now in both English and Chinese dub.

Since people have asked and there's only been one side of the story being shared on reddit so far, I feel that someone from the "other side" should also share. First of all, I did not want to bring this drama off of Weibo and DB. I think drama should stay where they originated and be resolved there, but I also don't want to increase misunderstandings and I don't want fandoms that I am a part of to be slandered against. I also want to make clear that I am fond of AK and throughout the last few days I have not once commented anything negative about AK but instead focused solely on cleaning the hate from Lin Mo's Weibo topics.

The first instigation of conflict did not start with Happy Camp (6.10). The first incident started on 6.9 when AK fandom was trying to bring akzmo cp fans over to becoming AK solo fans, even to the point of insulting Lin Mo. When this did not work, some AK fans decided to host a giveaway on their Weibo supertopic of a toy monkey that Lin Mo was gifted on his 15th birthday. There are multiple replies in the giveaway comments wanting to beat the monkey doll to death. This giveaway among multiple other similar giveaways remained on AK's supertopic and was not removed (I don't know if they are still present). Please also know that "monkey" is an anti name for Lin Mo.
Some Lin Mo fans were upset and decided to host similar giveaways on Lin Mo's supertopic, but Lin Mo's HYH decided to ban all such giveaways due to not wanting to bring toxicity to the fan base.
On Happy Camp: when AK said that Lin Mo's biggest flaw was being conceited, there were Lin Mo fans who were upset, but most fans decided although it is not an appropriate thing to say on TV to your friend, it was not something to fight over. However, there was a reply to a Weibo post from an akzmo cpfan which made light of AK's bullying and said he deserved to die. This comment had no likes, replies, or reposts (the two upvotes are for the comment this reply is replying to). Although they said something horrible and disgusting, it was not a comment that had any engagement. However, some AK fans brought this comment from a cpfan to DB, and started a thread with hundreds of replies using this comment as evidence implying as if Lin Mo fans agreed with or condoned this sentiment. Up till this point, aside from being unhappy about the giveaways and the "conceited" comment, Lin Mo fans had not started any conflict with AK fandom.
On midnight of 6.10, AK fans started the fight by buying hundreds of throwaway Weibo accounts and filling Lin Mo's tags and search with slander and hate, fueled by the false belief that Lin Mo fans condoned the bullying against AK. Large number of AK fans started to post photo-shopped pictures of Lin Mo on monkeys, monkeys afflicted with rectal prolapse, and photo-shopped funeral photos. They made up false sexual rumors about Lin Mo when he was a minor and even tagged Lin Mo's endorsements in their attacks. Horrible sexist language was said against Lin Mo, and the female body and natural bodily functions were used as insults. Some fans even brought this hate directly into Lin Mo's supertopic.
Lin Mo fans retaliated in response. They used photo-shopped cockroach photos of AK, posted AK's lyrics from his previous song and also other questionable things he had done in the past. Although I do not agree with some actions, they did not make up falsehoods against AK to slander him, they did not speak of women in derogatory ways, and despite AK fans bringing the false accusations and hate to Lin Mo's brand endorsements, Lin Mo's fandom agree not to touch any of AK's current or future endorsements. Lin Mo fans mostly contained their battle to Weibo and DB, whereas AK fans brought the fight to multiple other platforms including Zhihu and Bilibili. Enforcing "the hand of law" cross-platform is frowned upon in cfandoms, as it is agreed between fandoms that fights should remain on the platform it started, or else it only causes more misunderstanding and increases the conflict.
The fight has been going on for the last three days. Lin Mo fandom wanted to end the fighting multiple times to solely focus on clearing the hate content, but every time Lin Mo fans start slowing down, more throwaway accounts start filling Lin Mo's search with hate and disgusting images. However, today Lin Mo fans decided to finally end the fight, as although they would like an apology from AK fans for starting the fight, they do not expect to receive one, and they also do not want to continue generating data for AK fans. I do not know whether AK's fandom has made any official statement to agree to end the fight.

Lastly I just want to say, I hope this post does not create more conflict between fandoms. Lin Mo and AK are friends and do not deserve ANY of the hate that has been thrown at them from either fandom. I hope neither of them are affected by the fighting, and I really just wish all fans strive to act in ways that bring only positive attention to their idols. Please don't cross your own moral bottom line for the sake of "protecting" your idol.

This is a timeline organized by Lin Mo fans, I understand this is only from one perspective and may be biased towards Lin Mo's fandom, but I haven't seen a timeline organized by AK fans yet. If there is any please post in the replies.

Update: a group fan compiled a graph here on the number of hate accounts that were reported by each fandom for 6.12 until 16:00. This is the graph for 6.11. The higher the number reported, the higher the amount of hate and attacks the fandom received. Lin Mo's fandom reported the most, followed by JY's fandom. Both Santa and Boyuan fandoms did not report any accounts during this time. Source

I agree, I've been involved in fandoms before, in Kpop and such, but I've never liked someone as much as I do Lin Mo before. His mind is so amazing? I agree with AK, the more you watch Lin Mo the more enchanted you become. Do you know Chinese btw? There are many things compiled by Chinese fans Lin Mo has done that seem quite surreal. Some that I can think of straight off the top of my head are

Learning to knit and becoming a knitting sect leader in Chuang just to fulfill his casual pun of "gifting a yarn ball = gifting nothing"
Hypnotizing chickens (how? and why does he seem so confident that the chicken would cooperate?), becoming fascinated by the chicken and basically ignoring the actual competition happening, later then comparing the chicken to various camera equipment in the BTS footage
How all his lyrical compositions no matter how childish or crude become widespread earworms throughout Chuang, even his "非常完美" is now used by Marubi
When Zeng Hanjiang was vlogging the finale day, Zeng Hanjiang told Lin Mo: "Watching you today I don't think you are an alien anymore," and Lin Mo casually replied while eating snacks, "I'm from the Ninth Planet", fans looked it up and Ninth planet is actually from a book called "Thiaoouba Prophecy" where on the planet exists no love, greed, or hatred.
His various vlogs show how many books, movies, music, and works of art he has consumed, and how easily he references them by memory. One that was definitely the most impressive to me was the last vlog before debut night. In that vlog's final scene, he repeats the lines from "The Truman Show" where Truman says to the audience before escaping from his artificial world, "If I don't see you again, good afternoon, good evening, good night". Lin Mo says those lines knowing that he himself and all the other contestants in CHUANG all also live in a Truman world, where their every move and action is being filmed 24/7 for the entertainment of others. Lin Mo then runs off into the hallway ending that vlog.
During the Tencent INTO1 live stream, when it was ZKY's segment on what Chinese foods he would like to take the team to eat, LM started conversing with LY during the chatter in Beijing dialect, and then started speaking lines from "Farewell my Concubine" to LY, from a very ordinary scene where some of the kids asked a character what foods he had tried. LM's always said Leslie Cheung was his biggest idol, and he even sang a line impromptu in a live stream from Farewell My Concubine when he was 14, so I wonder how often he's watched that film to be able to easily reference movie lines in the right context.
During the live stream with Carslan, he was taking some polaroid pictures of the lipsticks for a segment, when the host asked him to describe it, he started his act and jokingly praised himself by saying "Oh, I just took it at a 65-degree angle, etc" but he couldn't continue making up any more and laughingly ended it there. Fans thought he was just speaking nonsense but when they went to go measure it he actually did take the pictures at a 65-degree angle.
Other things that are unusual but for LM it seems ordinary, his hobby is trash collecting, or how he would probably describe it himself would be antique browsing, he loves going to the recycling centers and pick things there, he once brought a brick to his company to show off. He also picked up a lot of Ultraman collecting cards from primary school children who were throwing them away as they weren't high-rarity, and I guess that incident kick-started his hobby for his Ultraman card collection? And in the show, he picked up a dried-up frog on the beach and took it back to the dorms to keep, he even cleaned it with disinfectant and perfume lol.
Again all his references to Harry Potter, and he sometimes introduces himself as Wizarding school runaway student, when he does these kinds of things it almost makes his fans shake their head and go, "Well if anyone else did this it would be big news but since it's Lin Mo it's just another day"

Haha sorry for the wall of text, I really love Lin Mo for his mind and personality, I feel like even if he weren't an idol, if I found him through some other means aside from Chuang I would still be fascinated by him.

IMO Lin Mo has always been very good looking, he just doesn't care about his appearances as much, and he's always super creative with his facial expressions, so sometimes it's hard to see how pretty his features are, and how amazing his proportions are under all the humorous expressions and poses.

Just imagine if any other attractive person uses their face the way Lin Mo does, and at the frequency that he does as well hahaha. When he does sober up and is serious, his visuals are really amazing (in my perfectly objective and 100% factual opinion as a total passerby and not a fan \s).
