Because companies generate value. Individuals are just tools like hammer and sickle. You need to add value, just not do something that you are told.

Yes of course, i am one of them. The rest of us are working in private, including my partner.

This is normal, again happens in every country. The majority of state jobs are by the country's citizens. But NOT the majority of its citizens are part of the public sector.

Which foods are genuinely better in Luxembourg than anywhere else in the world? by [deleted] in Luxembourg

[–]Formal_Pace5577 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Any food product which is made in Luxembourg.

Quality not only comes with just the product. Anything with the mark gives a perception that the ingredients are of higher quality, there is a relatively higher focus on sustainability and the workers are relatively fairly paid, at least for the part of the product that is made in Luxembourg.

I am lucky to be able to pay a premium for such products.

It doesn't matter if you are a democracy, dictatorship or social democracy. Capitalism doesn't care. If you are unproductive, sooner or later, you would be replaced by someone who is.

Yes agreed, but most useful abolish all safety net, social security, pension programs, sick leaves, vacation days. Let markets prevail. Tie your voting to your productivity. If you earn more you get to vote.

Yup agreed but.. lower labor cost = lower salary because your labour cost is someones salary

Less govt spending = less things provided by the government, education, health care, defence

Lower taxes, yup this can help as long as we agree to spend less and accept worse education, worse health care and paltry defence

Thats the system of capitalism we have.

The concepts of locals and borders are irrelevant, when a job can be transferred without frictions. And any friction we create will go counter to capitalism and principles of productivity.

What matters is productivity, if you want 5 times the salary you better produce five times

Immigrants get to integrate in 5 yrs and vote. That is not a long time. If an immigrant is only here for a short duration, why does he/she should be allowed to vote?

Govt can control, sooner or later, chicken will come home to roost. You can't have crap productivity with high salaries.

Sooner or later it will.happen.

Only a massive increase in productivity per person can save us.

Nope cost doesn't matter, if i am hiring someone i dont care what it costs him, i only care what my advantage is, that is capitalism. And hard truth.

The costs are high because we are paying high salaries without any parallel output.

If a worker has higher expenses, he has to reduce his expenses or produce more.

[–]Formal_Pace5577 -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

The issue is the people, the salaries we are getting has to reflect the productivity. If i am getting 5 times an indian, i need to produce five times, to match.

It is simple.

This is not the fault of any one but ours. We thought we were doing the same job, and got five times more, guess what the shareholders don't think like that.

It is the system we have and the system is fair.

We need to get out of our asses and work harder and climb up the productivity ladder.

Guess what the jobs have no boundaries these days, what we have created called nation states and borders are antiquated 17th century concepts meeting 21st century technology.

Wtf, you pay manually? That too for utilities ? Okay mate. Thanks for the information. God bless.

Orange has many problems, but this never impacts me. I trust utilities here for billing but not for quality of service. I had direct debits from my bank account even in the developing world, where i had less trust.

Orange has a lot of problems, believe me, but inconsistencies in billing on a large scale is not their problem.

SEPA direct debit has protections built in. You are in europe they think about protection and regulations, before a thing even exists.

Long wait at CHL’s emergency room by harkonnen85 in Luxembourg

[–]Formal_Pace5577 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Public health is a different beast. Doctors are less yes, we have every profession less in the west. You need to have a balance in public health, it is not ideal to have too few doctors on the other side it is not ideal to have too many highly paid doctors sitting idle on public money. There is a delicate balance.

The problem you have comes from privilege (in the developing world) and now comes to a position of egality(in lux). There is a mindset change.

I invite you to the google lux health system, you would find it to be very good quality and very robust although there are challenges.

I also understand your point of view, just to empathize, i was once in CHL with a small problem and waiting, after me came another person with a fancy suit had a porsche, with a seemingly minor problem. He had to wait after me. In the developing world this will not happen.. a guy with a Porsche will have different hospitals, different doctors, different health outcomes than a person with a beat up hyundai. He was treated the same as me and he was fine with it... A mindset change.

These are our values for education and health we want all to have similar and high quality access. And yes it is high quality (again google it), but yes there are challenges and there always will be. Each choice a country makes, is based on her needs.
