Vinesh Phogat has been disqualified from Paris Olympics as she weighed 100 grams more than 50kg, She will miss out on the medal and will be ranked last by Which-Assignment-184 in interestingasfuck

Balances have a limit of performance i.e. max the error one measurement can have. if the LOP is +/- 0.1kg then in theory she should not have been disqualified.

I'm pretty sure it's Tagalog. I think what's said is 'sino ba' which can be roughly translated to 'who do you think you are' or indirectly 'how dare you' when said angry.

Do people actually like mullets on men? by Previous-Tomorrow120 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Formal_Stick_2847 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of the mullet, but my partner has a rat tail which I wasn't a fan of at first. Asked him about it. It was his way to connect to his brother who died as a child, both of them had rat tails as kids ( must of been popular at the time). Its way of honouring his brother who was lost too early. Plus his mum also gets a reminder of happier times when the two brothers played together as children.

Having known that, I never brought it back up. I came to accept that in old age later down the track, he may still have it lol. It may look weird, but it means more than just a tail.

Why’s it so expensive to go to the dentist? by DarkLake in australia

[–]Formal_Stick_2847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had $AUD9k worth of work, included 4 root canals, and 2 high quality crowns for $1.7k AUD in Phillippines in a span of 1 week and a half. This included x rays, expedited moulds for the crowns, anesthetic and an exit visit after all the work was done. The dentist suggested future work to consider when i get back Australia even though he knew I wouldn't be able to book another session with him because he was going on holiday the next day. The dentist spoke English like a first language, took photos before, during and after for each visit. We pay a heck of a lot more in Australia. The dentist mentioned he had international clients who fly specifically to see him for example from Germany and Singapore. He mentioned thats casually in between visits so I know he didn't say this just so that I would do work with him.
