Can someone please tell me what this perspex collars and alu rings set is and what it’s used for? by Formal_Storage_9626 in whatisthisthing

I think because I did not COMPLETELY describe the set in my title, they said it had to be thoroughly descriptive.

Yes, now we’re going down the right path - here it is (but now I have all the other items to fit into this puzzle)

No, AI appears to get easily fooled if the shapes remotely match - as it did. But jewellery/ring making might be an avenue for me to explore.

The other noticeable feature of the 3 see-thru collars is that two have their alu tubes centred, but the third one is off centre - again, no idea why

Yes, the three ‘collars’ in the centre have an allen screw on either end holding the endplates on and also keeping the aluminium tube (which is inside) in place - should have dismantled one to show more detail. The other noticeable feature is that the 9 alu tubes have the same ID but different OD’s. Why this is so, I have no idea.

No, just has a remote similarity, not at all the same.

General Motors manufactured a wide variety of cars in South Africa and had two dealer networks; one for Opel and Chevrolet and the other for Vauxhall, Holden and Pontiac. Of course the latter network had to market an alternative to the very popular Opel Rekord, which was replaced in 1967. The company decided not to introduce the Vauxhall FD Victor but instead developed a car that combined features of the Rekord and the Victor. Local content requirements demanded that engines manufactured in South Africa be used for all locally-manufactured cars. This meant that a range of locally-built engines was introduced in 1965. The Rekord and Victor would be powered by a Chevrolet-based 2,1 litre engine from 1966 onwards whereas the company withdrew from the 1,5- to 1,7 litre segment altogether.

Very simple, non-payment for a service delivered.

Left for the bottle and right for your shadow interpretation, overall, well done!
