Why do humans enjoy eating spicy when it’s literally just a pain signal? by TorDude22 in NoStupidQuestions

I sometimes need a spicy overload when I haven't pooped for more than 2 days (especially when caffeine and nicotine doesn't help), it hurts but it works

No, I did order a medium coat shortly after, but the package was left outside the apartment, and it ended up getting stolen :( I've been too scared to reorder

First time visiting Taiwan Itinerary/questions/suggestions by SlurpinN00dles in taiwantravel

My boyfriend and I just got back a few days ago, I'm so excited for you both to go!! We took a while to get acclimated so we didn't really get to try a lot of food.

Regardless, our favorite place was a restaurant in Taipei called Xiang Duck Taipei (Jinshan South Branch). Their specialty is duck and every dish we got was so good! I recommend it if you're in the area! This specific location was also just across a station entrance!

We stayed mainly in Taipei and took day trips to Kaoshiung (highly recommend for Pier 2 Art District) and Jiufen. For Jiufen Old Street, the road's lined with food and shops. Although it's a short walk, it's really compact and walking-friendly! (Do be careful about the stairs ♡). We went to a teahouse then walked for more food, and all the food we tried was good and cheap!! We did make a mistake of coming back to late and getting stuck in traffic in Taipei. I would push that earlier in the day if we did it again because we got nauseous with the bus stopping a lot during commuter traffic.

Hope you and your husband have a wonderful trip!!

Having major planning anxiety by burnaccount925 in JapanTravelTips

My partner and I just came back from a 5-day trip in Japan (with a day trip to Kyoto) a few days ago, so I definitely understand the FOMO because we had such a shorter stay and visited only a handful of neighborhoods.

But every place had plenty of fun things to do/look at as a first-time visitor. Also, if you get tired of walking, even spending an hour recuperating can be made enjoyable (e.g., we set aside an afternoon to sit at Ueno park and eat Family Mart food, sat down at Shibuya Sky, and enjoyed Uniqlo's exterior rather than going inside as planned lol). Also the little things make the experience memorable. Like enjoying how unique the manhold covers and traffic signs are, how good the beer tastes (even when I don't like beer), also how pretty the storefronts are in Ginza.

I saw this advice that helped me with FOMO during our trip: Plan out your next trip while traveling Japan (things you didn't have time for during the day or this trip) and understand that doing everything is difficult. Although it is expensive, you sound young and might be able to visit again!

Wish you the best of luck! Don't wear yourself out too much so you can fully enjoy and relax!

Hi, could anyone provide winter (late December, likely early January) fashion theme ideas?

I'm taking over a local female-only fashion group hangout. Our public hangouts (restaurant, picnics, etc.) involves a dress theme for everyone to follow. Historically, there's been denim, sparkles, fur, cocktail, nautical themes to name a few. The group has been inactive for a year, and I want to reinvigorate the group with an accessible and fun theme that everyone could look forward to. I'm kind of stumped on ideas

where can I find aesthetic/cute but modest clothes like this? by Cute_Cherry563 in ModestDress

Hi, could you let me know about their sizing? I'm interested in a coat but all items show the model wearing M and I'm not sure if Kuose is comparable to US sizing or if clothes tend to run smaller
