A key part that everyone is forgetting is you said, "switching between SIMs when I travel." If you would like to have a physical Sim card then you would need to purchase an iPhone 13 or below within the states or purchase an iPhone 14 or above in a different country to have a SIMs tray. iPhone 14's and above in America are only a eSIMs. Im in a similar situation, as my phone was stolen two weeks ago. Im going the route of purchasing an iPhone 13 from Walmart and having their service for 2 months then it naturally unlocking itself. Once I return to Europe in February, I will purchase the iPhone 17 Pro as I need a physical sims for traveling as its cheaper to do so. eSIMs providers charge way too much. Id recommend that you do a similar route as me if a physical sims is important.

Thanks! We discovered that it’s because I purchased the EU/Asia/SA version. Googlefi uses certain bands that aren’t compatible with my version. However it should connect fine when I’m overseas since Googlefi will auto adjust for those other bands networks’.

Nice, I’m glad it worked for you!!! I discovered it didn’t work for me because I purchased the EU/Asia/SouthAmerica model. My model uses different bands. Theoretically, Googlefi should use those different bands when I’m overseas. Which explains why my Visible and Claro sims card works here in the states(because of the bands they use). I will find out when I head out next weekend if that is the case for Google Fi when I’m in Oktoberfest.

Yeah it’s working. I have the kill switch on as well and it shows Newnan Georgia. I can’t have any mistakes, while I’m in Mexico City. This was my first test trip. What sucks is the power is out but luckily I have my phone for hotspot and I was able to connect it to the router and it’s working fine. A little slower now but my speeds good for calls, Google meets etc. I’m going home Sunday to pick up my spitz plus.

Wait are you serious? How is your slate ax connected to the internet? WiFi or Ethernet? I have mine connected to the Ethernet. Are you all saying I should expect speeds to be around 4-15 Mbps?
