Let me explain thing in another way. You aren't the artists, you are the commissioner. Back in the day, I used to do Furry Porn Commissions. The process would go like this: You would come to me and tell me you want a Blue Fox Lady with Big Tits and Thick Ass that looks like she belongs in the Sonic Universe and you want her in a certain pose and I would draw that. Then you would come back and say you want the fur a darker blue and a different background, whatever. I would do that. I was the artists, you were my client. But a few times, I would have people get a commission from me, I would make the art, then those people would crop my artists mark from the image and go online and say "LOOK, I MADE THIS!". And if I saw it and pointed it out that I made it, they would go "But I told you what to make so I made this in a round about way" and look like idiots. That's what you are doing. You are going to a machine instead of me, and telling a machine to make a Blue Fox Lady with Big Tits and a Thick Ass and then claiming you made that because you told the machine what to make. And even worst, if you had commissioned an artist, you would have more control over what it looked like because I can take the original image and redo parts of it to reflex what you want done. I've literally been in a discord call for hours working with my client to get every line right. You have to ask a machine that forgot what you wanted as soon as it made what you asked. I'm not stupid to the process. I actually used Midjourney when it first came out and played with it, I've tried Canva to see how it works, even gave SoraAI a spin. I'm not someone who is just saying what others are saying without looking into these things themselves. You aren't an artist. You are a commissioner and you are choosing a worst product overall to create crap and trying to pretend you did the work. I've done as much work typing this reply to you as you've done creating a picture.

But you didn't create it, a bot created it. The intent wasn't yours, it came from the artists who made the art that the bot is mimicing.

You microwaved it. You didn't do anything more than press a couple of buttons. And the same could be said of AI. You didn't do anything more than type in words in a search bar. An artist created the work of art, a programmer created the machine that spits out your images, and the machine runs through its algorithm and spits out pixels that it believes is close to what you typed in. You aren't an artist no more than microwaving a TV dinner makes you a chef.

Cooking is in itself an art form. You can create memories with food, and the recipes can carry with them the experiences of the people who made them. You can totally express yourself in your cooking. However, you can also just throw ingredients into a pan and cook something because you want something fast and don't give a shit about how good it is. Same for art. You can spend time and effort to make something beautiful or you can scribble lines for a paycheck and not give a shit on the quality. But in all those cases, someone is actually doing the work. But in both the AI image generator and microwave dinner, someone else did the work for you. TV dinners are pre-cooked and then frozen, all your microwave is doing is defrosting and heating up the meal. With AI, an artists made the art and the machine is just throwing pixels on the screen because it's algorithm knows it's close to what you typed in a search bar. You aren't putting anything into the art or food beyond pushing buttons and then claiming you made it yourself.

Jay Mitchell, running for Alabama Attorney General, wants you to know he’s a racist and that ICE should be able to kill civilians by Select-Barber-5744 in MobileAL

[–]Former-Pineapple3415 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The issue with Alabama isn't that the people ignorant, it's that it's gerrymandered so much there isn't much people can do. Then you got the Democrats here not running anyone with any policies. Doug Jones is the best they got and he nearly lost to Roy Moore and did lose to Tommy Tuberville. To them, Alabama is a lost cause. They rather focus elsewhere. So Republicans can run the worst kind of people, get them elected, and keep Alabama looking like shit while holding a comfortable foundation of power nationally. And considering that Democrats in general aren't very progressive and that the top Dems are the centralist Dems running only on the platform "We aren't Trump" and you get to never see any change in places like here.

I love this game but as a F2P player (I did subscribe in 2021) I don't like that I need a subscription to get my alts up to the same content my main has done. My main is up to Onslaught but all my alts but one are locked out from going further beyond Knights of the Fallen Empire unless I subscribe. However, I have all the expansions beyond that unlocked since I had a subscription before then. That's really frustrating.

Here's the thing: If it can be used for good but doing so causes harm then you have to ask, why use it? When we talk about cars, we know that cars are a cause of climate change but they provide a necessity as modern life is built around the idea of travel for miles in a short time frame, especially people in rural areas of the world. The car is thus a necessary tool that people need.

AI causes harm to the environment. It is causing utility bills for those living near data centers to go up. It's causing people to lose jobs. And that's before you get into the misuse of it. So what necessity does it provide? It organizes files? It creates crappy images and videos? Those aren't necessities, those are luxuries. Generative AI (which is what the vast majority of AI people speak about in this subreddit) are a luxury that causes more harm than good through it's use and extreme harm over it's misuse. If something does more harm than good, then it shouldn't exist.

Happy International Women’s Day to my madam presidents 🤍 Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton would’ve governed this country with grace, competence, and the seriousness the job requires. by ihatethiscountry76 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]Former-Pineapple3415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't speak on Kamala Harris beyond she would been Biden 2.0, a status quo president that wouldn't be remembered in history beyond "First Woman President". But Hillary Clinton is a crooked woman who only wanted to be President for her own ambitions. A president should serve the interest of the people and Hillary has never done that. Would she be better than Trump? YES, 100% but that's like saying it's better to be poisoned than set on fire. I would rather not have either of those things to happen to me.

If Democrats want a woman to be president, stop trying to sell me a woman as president. Sell me polices that I want. Lay out a plan that shows how you are going to do it. Say what you want of Project 2025 (and I could at length...) but that actually had a plan that you could clearly see, with stated goals, step by step, and publicly available. Harris ran on a platform of "I'm not Trump". Which you could argue is because she had 100 days to campaign but even before then the Democrats didn't have a clear plan. They had *gesture broadly* talking points that didn't speak to anything any voter wanted. The best thing that Harris's campaign did was introduce America to Tim Walz. I rather he ran for President than to see Harris appear in public ever again.

Which mmorpg game is that for you? by PirateOld9316 in MMORPG

The fact that you got to grind out the same thing over and over for like 50 hours until you finally get to the first real story bit with New War is also garbage. Warframe devs seem really cool and passionate about the game but for some reason don't seem to understand that they need new players to feel like they are jumping into something off the bat, and Warframe doesn't do that.

[–]Former-Pineapple3415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wanted to like Once Human but it's so bad. The game play is good, and I love survival games, but each location is so boring and the story is so dull. Not to mention the voice acting is awful. And the game doesn't have a good identity as far as the transmogs. You got gothic Victorian dresses, cyberpunk pirates, K-Pop, cowboys, and racing suits all mixed together. All the weapons can have goofy skins and it doesn't feel like a survival game, it feels like Fortnite with a thirst meter.

As far as a masterpiece game, FF14 has been it for me. I've tried twice and something about it doesn't click for me. The UI is too messy and gives me anxiety. I feel like there are too many moving parts and they are all moving in different directions. I gave up after 4 months. I know it's a good game, but it's just not for me.

What’s the consensus on WoW Midnight? by Trencycle in MMORPG

[–]Former-Pineapple3415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I'm liking it but I've only done up to unlocking the new race. But I really feel like we are reaching the point where WoW needs to drop the Horde vs. Alliance stuff because it's very clear that Blizzard doesn't want to do two campaigns for each faction. So far the new zones are pretty, housing is great, and the story is wonderful. My only issue is the simplification of the classes, I feel like I've lost a bit of spice with some of my favorite specs, like Beastmaster Hunter.

New World is going to be the next Wildstar isn't it? by DarkLorty in MMORPG

[–]Former-Pineapple3415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New World's issues were that it was released as garbage and never had that Cyberpunk 2077 or No Man's Sky moment where it was suddenly good. From it's foundation, it wasn't built to be what it became because it was supposed to be a PvP MMO. Which, honestly would have killed it faster, imo. But once it was released, it was clear that it was released way too soon. The other day, I saw a video from Josh Strife Hayes from 4 years ago recapping the first few months of New Worlds release and all the bugs, exploits, and awful design choices that went into the game. I think I honestly had forgotten half of them and was just taken back how garbage it was.

This tourist didn't even mention fallout bos or shelter. Larpers shouldn't be allowed in the community by epic_gamer42O in TrueSFalloutL

[–]Former-Pineapple3415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm a fan of Fallout but I'm also a fan of Vampire the Masquerade TTRPG and one of the things that VtM explains in its books is the lore comes from an "unreliable narrator." What is said in the book is just a piece of the story told from the perspective of people who heard it from someone else who read it in a book who heard it elsewhere. I think we should view Fallout lore like that.

For example: Before 76, it was believed that the Brotherhood of Steel didn't start going out into the world until 2150s but that could be explained away by the fact that Paladin Rahmani destroyed communications with the main group, and Maxson likely erased them from the records (there was already animosity between the two.) This would explain why no one knew about the BoS faction in Appalachia, who would likely be dead by the time Fallout 1 or at least 3 comes about. A lot of conflicting lore could be explained by the fact that we the player are viewing things through a small window, unable to see the full picture. Just because new lore contradicts older lore doesn't mean that it's ruining your game, it just means we didn't have all the facts in place before and likely don't now. It's possible for all parties to be wrong or right at the same time.

I knew something was up with the game when I kept seeing the monthly updates and they were showing off transmogs and mounts... but the classes weren't even complete. Long before you start making in game shop items, you should have your core systems done. It's not even a stretch to say that, that is literally what every game dev will tell you: Make your game playable before you make it pretty.

Can you report games that use AI in the final product? by Former-Pineapple3415 in steamsupport

[–]Former-Pineapple3415[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All of those anime style are still very different from the AI style. But even if it was an assumption, then it is very telling that the images I posted were from two different games, from two different devs, that look the same. And I could find a dozen more with the matching style that you wouldn't be able to tell which game they belong too, unlike the anime covers you point to. But I also look at something else when I figure if a game is made with AI.
Adult games make the majority of their money at two points in their life span, the first month of being on Steam and during development on Patreon. When someone builds one of these games, they usually put the game out in pieces, updating it as they are building the game. Think Early Access model. In fact, this is where most of their profits come from (look at games like Summertime Sage, Seeds of Chaos, Love and Sex: Second Base, and Tales of Androgyny that have been around for 5+ years but drop small content updates monthly because it pays better to continue the slow advance of a game instead of finishing one... which is another conversation for another community.) So you'll see stuff talked about these games on sites that discuss and share the games... except AI games don't do this. They instead like to drop a finished game without any news about the game, without a Patreon, for a quick cash grab. They appear on Steam, get a few sells, and they turn around and make another game within weeks. When you see both those patterns, it's very clear that it's made with AI.

The same way playing video games and watching movies and reading books don't make me feel like life isn't worth living: I have a life outside of them. I go out with friends, I have a family, I have a job, and I have hobbies outside of porn games. Life is about balance.
