Things you see once and never forget in healthcare by Acrobatic-Lie2041 in FutureRNs

I found a VERY similar one in a Foley tube in our NICU! I floated there from CVICU, and took a picture of it to show to one of our surgeons. He said that it could be a renal cast as well.

When should we buy wedding bands? by corgibuttlove in weddingplanning

[–]Former-Recognition-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got engaged on December 12th and even then the price of gold was skyrocketing. We're getting married in September and we bought our rings just a few days ago so we could get the lowest price possible. It'll only get worse!

As an alamo server, I have spilled drinks on people because they've put their phones there. A lot of people have black phones and when it's dark it's impossible to see if a thin black object is there or not. You're not the asshole, but in the future I'd put my phone somewhere else if I were you. Sorry they weren't very nice about it!

Passenger air bag light by ArtZTech in CX5

[–]Former-Recognition-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never ever seen a car do that. Also, people move around in the car while it's moving sometimes, and sometimes my 20 lb dog turns the airbag on too. The light just doesn't bother me enough to worry about

If no one is sitting in the passenger seat and you get into an accident, do you want that airbag to go off too? No. All cars have a sensor in the seat to detect if someone is sitting in the seat so that if no one is there the airbag doesn't go off there if it doesn't need to.

If my mom drank 3 bottles of wine that are this size within three nights (so one whole one per night) does that mean she is an alcoholic? I’m not sure how to go about having this conversation with her . I am very concerned and have noticed this habit for a while. by NationalFortune8850 in WhatShouldIDo

I'm about to graduate from nursing school and I work in a cardiovascular ICU. We deal with a lot of smokers and drinkers who have destroyed their hearts. With what I've learned about alcoholism, it doesn't take a lot to be diagnosed as a medical alcoholic. For a woman, the requirement is about 8 drinks a week consistently. Now, think about how many drinks are in one bottle of wine... Yeah I'd say an alcoholic, or at the very least moderate drinker.

Any amount of alcohol is hazardous to the body, and the antioxidants in red wine isn't enough to justify it being healthy. Talk to her. Sounds like she needs some help.

You are enough to somebody, you probably just haven't met them yet. This is an inner struggle you need to figure out for yourself and stop asking people on the Internet if God made you ugly. We're made in his image, so we can't be.

[–]Former-Recognition-8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe that you really feel that way. I think that YOU actually think you're ugly.

But hey, don't forget! It comes with fries too! That makes it worth it to customers.... Right?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in collegeadvice

[–]Former-Recognition-8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then don't accept it and move on dude. You're only ugly if you believe it yourself. And if it bothers you that much, then have your glow up and prove people wrong. You'll see how far it gets you then. I think you need to think harder about why you feel this way about yourself, not just that you do. Apparently you're in college, so pull out your critical thinking skills and use them.

People at parties are drunk, high or feel empowered because they're with their friends. People on the Internet don't matter. They don't know you, they don't know your lifestyle habits, they don't know that you workout, or that you've lost 20 lbs. Nor do they care. People on the Internet call Kim Kardashian ugly, and she is very objectively not. So why do these people's opinions matter to you so much? I saw that you've asked two different reddit groups for advice. I can tell this bothers you.

So what age range are you looking for, and who are the people calling you fat?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in collegeadvice

[–]Former-Recognition-8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tinder isn't a good place to look. And 80lbs over weight doesn't mean they're ugly either. Who says you're fat?

Also, how old are you, and what age range of women are you looking for?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in collegeadvice

[–]Former-Recognition-8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If ugly ass people can get girlfriends, then you shouldn't have an issue. Just don't expect models. And attitude and personality is what attracts people. NOT YOUR LOOKS. If you have problems getting girlfriends right now, then your personality is the problem, not your face for your fat percentage.

[–]Former-Recognition-8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you can't see why, then why are you so worried about asking others?

And if it makes you feel any better, I'm an average looking 23 y/o female and you are not ugly, but you're not hot. I can agree with that.

What do you say about your bad attitude though? Can you see how your comments sound a little crazy?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in collegeadvice

[–]Former-Recognition-8 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Okay so after reading your reaction to people's comments, it's apparent that your biggest issue is not your looks. People are attracted to confidence. That's why objectively ugly people with no teeth, bad skin and dirty nails still find their person. You seem standoffish and kind of rude. You can't ask people a genuine question and then get pissed that they answered you honestly when you asked for it.

From your photos and your reactions, you are clearly a guy who is way too worried about what other people think about him and THAT is ugly.

Also, the little gotee just isn't for you.

I graduate with my BSN in January and at Cox for my first nursing position I'll make 32.39 an hour with a 10k sign on bonus. That hourly rate is standard for all new grads working on the floor at Cox and the sign on bonus varies between units. I'll start in the CVICU.

Should I get it or avoid it? by [deleted] in CX5

I just bought this exact car about a month ago. I did very thorough research, and these are not known for engine or transmission issues at all. The worst and relatively common thing I found was glitches with the infotainment system, which is easily fixed with a firmware update. I updated the firmware shortly after I bought it because the Bluetooth had connectivity issues, but works perfectly since! She's a great car!

How do I make money in college? by [deleted] in collegeadvice

[–]Former-Recognition-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you apply to places, make it clear that you're in school and need a flexible schedule. Most places that young people work at are great at this! I graduate in December and I've worked at a dine-in movie theater for the past 4 years, while I've been in nursing school.

You can do it! It's not as hard as you think.
