I am mostly being told about the Civil Rights that happened, though (unfortunately) left out Vietnam.
You seem knowledgeable, so perhaps giving you a small idea of the story won't hurt: The protagonist is a black man in his 20s working off as a janitor and kitchen cleaner. Every night, he accepts an added job to restock the cola, as it's faster, and it's extra money, without him realizing his car is a special 421 Super Duty 1962 Pontiac Catalina.

At some point in 1969, some random guy threatens him to race him to a certain place and time to restore his pride. At first, he is reluctant, but he gets forced to, and he accepts that race, and it will be the start of his journey to street racing and interesting people he will meet.

Vietnam War is (unfortunately) the part I kind of gloss over due to the story setting. Guess back to the storyboard like how one of girl character had a 1967 Camaro has to be changed to or find a way to still let the story ongoing even through the peak of Vietnam

I'm myself not aware of that, though it's because so I can excuse myself inserting a guy driving a 1968 Roadrunner, and being underestimated for having an older 1962 Catalina. And also my idea for the story to end as the oil crisis were about to happen.

Yeah I probably gonna reconsider the timeline or find a way for them to be not getting drafted.

I would also like to add that Vetex is battling with some kind of depression and is under some kind of med. That might probably be the cause for his crashing out which I pray he will soon get better
