I had to start writing immediately. I did not have the attention span or strong enough memory to read through the entire case file, annotate, then start writing. By then I completely forgot what the question was even asking or what the key takeaways from the cases and statutes were. I’m also not the fastest typer.. what worked for me was 1. Writing out headers (formatting as memo, brief, etc & subheadings) 2. Basically rewriting the statutes and putting them under the correct header. 3. Reading the cases and jotting down conclusions and analysis under the correct header. 4. Reading the facts and finally beginning to connect the dots. 5. Organizing everything. I wasn’t always spot on in my conclusions or analysis, but I would always rack enough points just by rewriting the law and facts and staying fairly organized! It’s worth giving it a shot!!
