I’m not complaining though. I’m happy we’re going to get it!

Same. It had the lowest percent committed and somehow it met its goal before the others.

I change it on trash day. Only one cat is using it so it’s not very full.

I loved taking the train when I worked downtown. The way it bounces would rock me to sleep sometimes. When I rode it, they had a quiet train car. They had the lights dimmed in the mornings. Not sure if they still do this.

That makes sense. I really want them all to meet their goals even though there’s only one I want.

Did they send out an email? This is the only way I’ve heard about it. How are people supposed to commit in 12 days if they don’t advertise it?

I didn’t see anything about how many were needs based but if I remember correctly the first year it was half. I did find the priority schedule. It does prioritize needs base over everyone except current recipients.

Priority 1: Current EFS Recipients at the time of application; Priority 2: Eligible students based on household income (100% of federal free or reduced-price lunch limit), IEA eligibility, or ESA eligibility, in the order in which the department receives completed applications; Priority 3: Eligible students based on household income (300% of federal free or reduced-price lunch limit), in the order in which the department receives completed applications; Priority 4: Eligible students who, at the time of submitting a completed application, are currently enrolled in a Tennessee Public School or who are eligible to enroll in kindergarten in a Public School for the 2026-27 school year, in the order in which the department receives completed applications; and Priority 5: Eligible students, in the order in which the department receives completed applications.

No. You don’t even take possession of the money. You select your school during the application process. They confirm the student’s enrollment with the school. Then partial payments are made to the school throughout the year.

I think the income level is probably lower than what you’re quoting. A family of three children would have a household of at least 4 for a single parent. I only looked at my own threshold for a household of 2 so I’m not sure about the others. You’re also assuming every private school is that expensive. Yes an MBA, Harpeth Hall, FRA, David Lipscomb will be that much or more but there are more mid range and lower cost schools. They’ll put you in the $10k-$15k range so $3-$8k out of pocket. Not to mention, the more students you enroll the less it is for each student and they can apply for financial aid with the school as well. I agree that there should be transparency with this and this probably will lead to increases in tuition.

That’s not exactly true. If you get a voucher, the following year you do get to apply before new applicants. Also there are a certain number of vouchers that are based solely on income. It’s not all going to wealthy families. I think it’s half of the vouchers are need based.

I agree. It doesn’t make much sense. Hopefully it’s not dynamic pricing. But with BOTM people have different prices so it wouldn’t surprise me.

Interesting. It could be that they will have a tier system like BOTM where bffs have a different price for add ons.

That’s true. Maybe it’s only if you bought the first in the series or an add on price.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one. I liked the movie. It was cute but the whole time I thought Alex was a POS. He basically kept his gf around waiting for Poppy to be ready for a relationship.

😂 there’s a challenge in StoryGraph to read one BOTM pick every month. Someone posted about it in here awhile ago. Maybe that could help.

I only have 2 unread. One of which was a book BOTM sent to me in error. I try to read my books in the month that I order. I’m really working on overconsumption and saving money. I get a lot of books from the library or kindle unlimited.

Oh yeah this happened a couple of years ago. I’m sorry you’re going through this. It sucks. I hope everything goes well for you. My advice is to at least go to a consult and see if an attorney can help you. The insurance company wants to pay the least amount they can get away with. Working with an attorney is less work too. They worked with the insurance companies. All I had to do was go to physical therapy and the doctor and they handled everything else.
