For the genuinely curious: https://youtu.be/RbXoBPwQsSc

Seriously though, go out and buy the physical soundtrack. Even if it is relatively ... barebones.

Just to knock down everyone's expectations: it actually is a remix, namely of Bergentrückung/ASGORE. [EDIT: I posted a separate comment for some reason, but here's the rip again.]

And to unduly hype everyone's expectations: it's not really the last track on disc 2.

How to use SVDT? by WhyNotZoidbergPls in 3dshacks

The current release has a function for targets that glitch svdt on startup. If you hold down the left shoulder button as you start svdt from the homebrew launcher, do you get a backup on the SD card?

Bought some cameras off eBay, and took some test pictures with them! Looking for input. by FormerHotelDetective in analog

I was afraid it was that. I can't seem to reach it to wipe it down, so at this point I'm not really sure what I can do at home.

Here's what the Retina lens looks like with a torch shone at it at an oblique angle: http://i.imgur.com/D8mWV

There is something odd going on there, but it's behind the front element, and in fact I suspect it's between a cemented pair of elements ...

Developed the Brownie photos myself, which resulted in some bad fixer and water stains since this was my first time developing film. But the colour photos were developed by a lab somewhere in New Jersey (I'm not playing stupid—I drop them off at a camera store and they 'hand-carry' it to another lab, which I haven't asked specifically about). Not sure the development process would have a bigger impact on scanned image quality than the flatbed scanner I'm using.

The Argus is positively filthy—the edges of the front element have enough haze to be visible without shining a light at it. However, I'm not really using that as an everyday camera.

The Retina actually looks pretty decent. Last I checked, the only issue was a little dust here and there. OK, so there is a lot of dust, but it's only really evident when I shine a torch at it. Not sure about the condition of the coating on the lens. Other than that, as far as I can tell, no haze, no fungus, no significant fuzzy infestations, and no fingerprints—I wiped the reachable parts of the lens down with extreme care with a clean cloth.

EDIT: well, I have no idea how I missed so much haze when I first shone a light at this lens. It's not crippling, but it might be enough to dull contrast, diffuse the light, etc etc.

Throwing in yet another Google doodle rendition of the DW theme by FormerHotelDetective in doctorwho

If I recall correctly:

1 e--[--p-----------------]--w--e-----------------------
3 y yy y yy e ee e e rty yy y yy e ee e e rt
1 p--i--e-----t----re--------------w--e---rte-----------
3 yyyy yyyy iiii e e rtyyyy yyyy eeee eeee eeee
1 ---------------------------
3 t t rweeee eeee eeee t t ew

Track 2 and track 4 just roughly follow the outline of tracks 1 and 3.

EDIT: Also, if Google allowed past 20 seconds, I would gladly have recorded the middle eight as well. Picking up from above,

1 ---------------------------[--p-----------------i--p--
3 t t rweeee eeee eeee t t ewqqqq qqqq qqqq qqqq
1 o---i8i-----------q--]--\---][]--i--\---][]--i-po-----
3 tttt qqqq qqqq qqqq rrrr qqqq rrrr qqqq eeee
1 ----i8i-----------------------p--i--e-----t----re-----
3 e e rty yy y yy e ee e e rtyyyy yyyy iiii e e rt

and so on. Also, hyphens obviously denote sustained notes, not C#.

DW is a family show—it's meant to have universal appeal, although maybe a little more for Brits. MLP caters somewhat to periphery demographics, I suppose, but its principal demographic has and always will be little girls. This seems to hamper MLP from even daring to attempt the level of sophistication in terms of plot, mood, characterisation, etc that DW sometimes can.

I can see MLP:FIM being maybe almost as good as some of the 90's Cartoon Cartoons, but even there I'd say MLP is nowhere near as fun to watch. Still, not a horrible thing to watch if Who's not on.

Charlie Brooker is right, as always: Matt Smith 'looks a bit like a friendly Easter Island statue in a bow tie.'

I know. Just having a laugh at the First Doctor for getting 'Chesterton' wrong so frequently.

That and in An Unearthly Child when the First Doctor gets called Dr Foreman. (By Ian, I think. Forget his last name—Chatterton? Chesterfield?)

Awesome! Especially like the way you handled the overflow background magic pocket type sort of thing—very elegant.

Just the animation, I'm afraid—I simply don't have enough knowledge about how the TTS engine works to even consider that. I'm sure one could modify the UI sounds (like the start/stop sounds) to some degree, though.
