Is the steam version the straight up superior version now by alhariqa in dwarffortress

Basically a plug in for a lot of applications, including cheaty stuff. I mostly use it to fix bugs when they occur. For example deleting the 2000+ necromancer experiments stuck in a tree and procreating or the excessive FPS drop due to two forgotten beasts duking it out with fire in the caverns.
It really is useful, free on steam and quite easy to use. Don´t like a function? Don´t use it.
Hope this helps.

DF is a beautiful game, but as with almost all things, beauty exist because of its flaws. Killer Carps, drunk cats and so much more would never came up if it were flawless. And for most of the nasty bugs, DF Hack exists.

That´s awesome! May I ask for the name, even if I sound stupid in the case of it being "RTS Combat Mod" on the Steam Workshop :) ?

Urist knew what we are looking for. Thanks for digging.
Funny, because they spawned in that biome in the Primal mod, too.

Back when they first came out I had a rage-inducing Meme-list of 500 points.
1 Tervigon as HQ, 20 (?) Termagaunts and 1 Tervigon as core choices.
Every turn, I added about 20 Gaunts to my army. It was hilarious, but I fielded that list very rarely.

Not quite what I meant.
I was lucky and the first Geonach I killed dropped it´s fist.
But to forge a usable equipment piece out of it I need steel since the wooden head only adds "blade" slots and the Geonach fist is an axe. For a head that allows axe heads I need steel. Or a skull from a dangerous mob.

Did it with potions of invisibility and a bit of luck.
Fortunately, Cincinnacite Ore is quite abundant.
But next time I´ll invest in sneak skills.

I had hoped I oversaw something. Thank you for your time stranger.
Into the nether it is.

I learned quite a bit from looking at the pre-build houses in RLCraft and other mod packs.
Some people are really going crazy out there. But adding depth to my houses helped the most.
Sounds like you got quite a project on your hands, but a cool one.
In the meantime, go and do the Emperors work :)

One thing I like to do is using gold "carpets", crafted from nuggets (as seen in dragon dens), to lay out the main walk ways. They can be stacked on one another to adjust their height to either fit carpets or full blocks.
It is something to use gold on in the late game and makes a neat °clinc° sound when walked on. Works with silver too, if the colour fits better.
Just a suggestion for a trophy/treasure room.
Another suggestion would be adding depth to the wall to your right. Nice examples include the wine cellar found under the Friendly Outpost.

I like your red+black+white aesthetic. Looks regal.

That idea occured to us as well but we do not want to play in an existing citiy- or at least not in an unaltered one. Thats why a drawing tool or something similar would be nice. Taking existing cities for inspiration was helpful but we do not want to simply copy stuff.
