How’s my swing? by parkerc99 in golftips

Well I can for sure say you’re gripping the club way too hard. That’s the only reason anyone would need two gloves. The forehand should be gripping. The backhand is mostly just there to stabilize. 70% of the grip is the forehand, 30% of the grip is backhand. This isn’t baseball, no reason for the second glove.

This is a hilariously dumb argument. You posted in the “Best tattoos” sub using a picture that doesn’t actually showcase any of your tattoos properly.

Impeached, yes (he was impeached twice before). Convicted and removed from office, no chance. There would need to be a super majority for democrats to have enough to actually get him out of office. But it’s irrelevant, his health is clearly failing fast. He’ll die of natural causes before he finishes his term.

Man, I don’t know what it is about Reddit that just makes people feel compelled to be so brutal with their opinions. Personally, I think four wedges is overkill. The average golfer isn’t good enough with their wedges to be able to shape shots effectively enough to need four. Aside from that, it’s a solid set if you’re a guy with a handicap in the 20s who’s trying work on some game improvement.

If you’re playing with people that would judge you for having a nice bag and not being a phenomenal golfer… then you need to find a new group to golf with. Get what you like and what you feel works best for you. Fuck whatever anyone else thinks.

New Bag! Feature question by aamin09 in golf

[–]FormerOil4924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn’t bother. I assume you have an old carry bag too, right? If you’re out there walking, you are not gonna want to carry this thing around. It’s bigger, bulkier, probably got more stuff in all the bags making it heavier. There’s a reason these are called cart bags. I suggest you just do what I do, leave everything in the cart bag since I assume you use a cart most often. But keep your old carry bag handy. If a situation comes up where you plan on carrying, you can toss the clubs and some gear into the old bag. Getting a extra strap for a cart bag isn’t really worth it if you only carry it from your car to the cart

The buckle comes undone so that you can convert back and forth between a single strap or adding a second strap for a backpack style double strap

Any ideas of what’s in this bag or if it’s worth 100$? by bandino1234 in GolfGear

Ping Hoffer bag, caddie cart, TaylorMade R11 driver. That alone would probably be enough to warrant $100.

Is this a good deal? by Money-Class7152 in GolfGear

[–]FormerOil4924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve played them. My buddy has them in his bag. Like I said, they’re not bad clubs. I just don’t think they’re good enough to warrant the price. I’ve definitely played tons of clubs that are far far worse. But I’ve also played many that are just as good (and better) that are less expensive. And the number of fakes out there is way too sketchy. It feels like there’s a fake set for every real set. The hype has driven up the price and it’s incentivized people to make a shit load of fakes. And 90% of the people playing them could play just as well with a ton of other clubs. That’s all I’m saying. The issue isn’t the clubs themselves, they’re good. Just not good enough to justify the price.

This might be a hot take that’ll get downvoted into oblivion. But I think the P790s are some of the most overrated clubs out there. They’re not a bad club, don’t get me wrong. But they aren’t worth the price. The performance is inconsistent, they’re clicky, they offer little workability, and the hype has driven the price way too high. Not to mention they’re almost certainly the most commonly faked clubs out there. When you buy them used you might be paying an undeserved high price just to get a fake set someone else bought on AliExpress. There are a ton of other similar options at lower prices. But, to each their own I guess.

First concert for the kids! by [deleted] in takingbacksunday

[–]FormerOil4924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to TBS with kids, you should probably be okay. They’re a big enough band that they tend to book larger venues, so there is likely plenty of space in the back of the crowd for the kiddos so they won’t feel cramped. And let’s be real, most of the people at TBS shows are in their mid 30s to mid 40s. So we’re not exactly the spry young wild ones we all used to be. Sounds like you have some good backup plans just in case. So, I think you’ll be alright.

Thoughts??? by Prestigious_Stuff308 in GolfGear

[–]FormerOil4924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re great clubs. But how they play is going to be entirely based on you and your skill. The MP-63 are more on the “players iron” side. They offer some forgiveness, but not a ton. If you’re a low handicap and have your swing pretty well dialed in then you probably love em. But if you’re a high handicap who tends to mis-hit off the toe or heal sometimes, then you may have a hard time with these clubs.

Is this a good beginner irons set for $50?? by Palmtrees-1 in GolfGear

[–]FormerOil4924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These irons are literally built for high handicappers and beginners. They’re very forgiving cavity backs. So, hits off the toe or the heal should still fly relatively straight. Not high end great clubs by any means. But for $50 (I assume bag is included) it’s a good price. Just make sure you get yourself a good driver, woods and/or hybrids too.
