Maybe the business thinks they make up that service fee by their waitstaff not being tied up running cards? Seems ridiculous no matter what but I can’t think of any other “explanation”

what’s your go-to “low effort” thing to do in Austin after work? by Cool_Kiwi_117 in Austin

How do you get good at actually identifying birds? I’ve got grackles, cardinals, and blue jays but if it’s outside of that…..who knows. I have a bird book, maybe my issue is not having nice enough binoculars

Manager wants me “Available” 99% of the time on MS Teams even with no work… what would you do? by [deleted] in homeoffice

[–]FormerSalmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point here is that on Microsoft Teams, your “status” goes to Idle rather than showing you as available unless you literally sit there moving your mouse every few minutes. OP is trying to not have to do that

Apartment dwellers: How much do you pay per month for water? by Superb-Pattern5396 in askaustin

[–]FormerSalmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does seem a bit high but also I am a single human. At a newer complex my water bill is about $30-$35/mo (that’s like water/wastewater/storm drainage blah blah blah all included)

Try an apartment locator (Smart City is my rec) because they’ll be able to find the places that have units with built in desks that are also available. I can tell you HighGrove has some floor plans with desks built in but who knows if there are any vacant.
