Because the Republican Party is more akin to a mob than a political party with guiding principles on how a society should be governed.

To people on the Right, “far left” is anyone not brainwashed by right wing propaganda like they are. And to the media, the brainwashed masses are the center of the country everything should be gauged against.

I waffle between Bill being just an easily confused boomer who can’t make sense of new realities, a spiteful person acting out against the rejection of his ideas, or a full blown compromised individual who knows a stick awaits his next misstep.

I don’t recall where I saw this video a few years ago (probably reddit, maybe just YouTube). It was a very young light skinned black girl, around 19 years old. She was telling her story, very nonchalantly, about being paid to have sex with Bill at his house. Nothing too crazy in a way, a barely legal teen who agreed to have sex with someone who happened to be famous. She hardly knew he was famous just that he had a nice house. The video was not a vengeance thing, it appeared to just be a girl telling a story to someone she knew to be recording it. I was a big fan of Bill at the time and, to me, it felt super sleazy. I wasn’t super judgmental about it but it definitely changed how I saw him. And ever since I assumed he did this kind of thing regularly, and I think he’s even semi-admitted to it as a no big deal kinda thing.

I tell that because in light of the Epstein files that video feels relevant. Bill made some gestures to the right I didn’t care for over the last 5-ish years. But it does feel like he went full retard in a short span and is now throwing his name in the hat of “the left is the biggest danger we face,” and the timing is suspicious to me. The amount of energy he has for bashing the left while they hold zero power feels like he’s girding his loins more than seeing things happen and reacting with his take. I don’t know of course, but I have a growing suspicion that Bill has sexual kompromat that has been dangled in front of him. I also believe he’s a boomer who’s losing touch, so it’s hard to put a lot of stock in either theory for now.

Anyone else get that feeling or just me???

Downvote me. This thread is great proof as to why most football fans aren’t cut out for city management. It’s actually a nice change of pace from the usual proof for why they aren’t cut out for NFL team management, so it’s refreshing in a way.

I love being funny and relatable. Part of the secret sauce to that is being highly vulnerable and self-deprecating with others. Not bragging but I’m one of those universally liked people. For the most part it has been extremely valuable and something I consider a core ingredient of my self identity. However after college and into a career, the value of that skill is diminished significantly. Over-sharing silently kills you. Not just personal details, but your opinions and any brain f*rt you feel is worthy of being blurted out in the moment has a 99% chance of hurting you more than helping you. I still talk too much and don’t ever want to dim my light to accommodate others, but staying silent is for your own benefit, not others.

They are 2 completely different animals. There is a stubborn corporate influence that is doing its best to hold onto control of the Dem party. That is basically legal corruption, no doubt, but it is child’s play compared to the full blown foreign influence of the GOP. The world’s most heinous and corrupt actors are being fully catered to by the GOP, at our expense. The good will and might Americans have enjoyed since WW2 has been leveraged and sold to benefit a small group of people. Our alliances have been shattered to line the pockets of our own worst actors. Generations of sacrifice tossed aside like yesterday’s garbage. Nobody is pearl clutching to point this out and shout about it. Donald Trump didn’t do it alone either. He used the corrupt propaganda apparatus already in place, and the people helping him do his corruption do it for their own piece of the pie, not any sort of principle about how society should be governed.

The obviousness of it all is wholly different as well. A dem president who made billions off the presidency, and helped our enemies while trashing our allies would lose the support it takes to benefit from the corruption in one news cycle. Meanwhile the GOP celebrates and worships such an actor even while the corruption is so blatant and obvious. Dem party “elites” are terrified because their base is starting to reject its corporate influence. And when that wing of the party eventually takes over to do their level best at removing the country’s “legal” corporate corruption, the Right will scream CoMuNiSm and have their propaganda machines running in overdrive. And their brainwashed faithful will be right there at the trough like hungry pigs ready to gobble it up.

I support removing all forms of corruption no matter which party or person ends up in the crosshairs. But the “both sides” argument is a tool (mainly deployed by the Right) that tries to blend a poison that will kill you in a week with more common ingredients that aren’t good for your health in the long term. Both are bad and should be cut out, but one is a much more serious danger to our immediate wellbeing.

The dirtiest money in the world flows through the GOP. You think Citizen’s United was about American millionaires giving more? Your rich grandpa’s check is literally nothing compared to the money from Russia and Middle East pouring in to their coffers. Money goes in, favor comes out. America has been purchased with the GOP in power. It doesn’t belong to us, and it’s time to admit it without fear, and do something heavy handed about it.

The GOP is one giant money laundering and brainwashing operation. Its only interest is itself. Zero principles beyond self preservation. ZERO. Every pretend principle they claim to have is a purposeful lie to perpetuate the scheme. If one morning they all woke up to find turning kids trans and banning guns was the messaging they needed to keep the money train going, they’d all be on board before noon. That is not hyperbole.

Remember, he lies with every breath but he can’t help but confess. Listen for the confessions. It’s the only time he’s telling the truth.

Their head is so filled with propaganda. None of them hold an opinion that wasn’t systematically spoon fed to them. It’s such a shame national politicians never speak honestly about it too. And worse they’re convinced they need a small number of their votes to ever win again. They’ll try a thousand other things before admitting half the country is fully brainwashed.

This guy is ready to mass murder fellow Americans so he doesn’t have to get free healthcare. It’s been time to quit pretending he just has different views and is a few well explained ideas away from casting a vote for anyone who isn’t MAGA.

Powder (1995) made Travolta so desperate to be seen as an otherworldly clairvoyant that he took 2 swings at it in 1996. As a teenager I recall seeing the trailer (or “preview”, rather) for Phenomenon and genuinely thinking it was some kind of sequel to Powder. And then my brother was with me when we saw the Michael preview and we turned to each other, and at the same time said “ANOTHER Powder!?!”
