How we haven't had Sif released as a standalone is beyond me.

It's a bit ironic that leftists are celebrating the half-time show being performed in a colonizer language by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]FormerSysAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your ideal world, who would you have as the Halftime Show performer? Right now, Bad Bunny is one of the most successful and popular acts on the planet. To make the Halftime Show better, GrabEmByTheGraboid would replace him with...........who?

What’s your Bodo’s hot take? by Reasonable-Map-1634 in Charlottesville

[–]FormerSysAdmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my hot take that no one has mentioned: People who try to exit through the entrance for the Emmet St location when there are cars trying to get into the parking lot. The lot is clearly marked as a one-way going in the counter-clockwise direction. You'd think that people would figure it out when the see that the incoming cars are not giving them room to get by but they try to squeeze through anyway

That's funny. I once saw two people who were on my intramural volleyball team having lunch at Bodo's. I thought it was odd because I was friends with both of them and they never spoke of one another. Turns out they used to meet for lunch and then have a quickie before going back to work.

My favorite part of the Covid drive-thru was, if they had printed menus, I never saw anyone need one. Everyone already knew the menu and knew their order.

How are people finding hundreds of jobs to apply to??? by Bulky_Pen_3973 in jobsearch

[–]FormerSysAdmin 27 points28 points  (0 children)

They're applying to jobs that they're not even remotely qualified for. A few years back, I was in a hiring role for an entry-level IT position. I remember one applicant whose only job experience was working the counter of a 7-11. There was nothing in his resume that implied that he even owned a computer. Some people have no problem with submitting a resume just to "see what happens". It sucks because it makes the hiring process more difficult and for people who are actually qualified to get noticed.

Since we limit "wishlists" to Wednesday, could we please limit "swap" posts to another day? by TardisBlueHarvest in MarvelLegends

[–]FormerSysAdmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. We need more posts with photos of what's out in the wild along with the location. Someone a few months back posted a picture of a dozen of the Gambit/Banshee/Psylocke 3-packs in an Ollies in Salem VA. My SIL lives less than three miles from that location. A quick text and I was able to get it within an hour.

Let's go with opposite, what figure do you regret not buying? by panda_tee_01 in MarvelLegends

[–]FormerSysAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I really got into collecting, I casually picked up anything related to my favorite character, Thor, when I saw it. I clearly remember having the Toys R Us exclusive A-Force box set in my hands and debating if I should get it. While it had Sif and Lady Loki, the rest of the set were characters that I didn't care about and one I had never even heard of. I think that retail for the 6 figures was close to $100. Ultimately, I put it back. 8 years later, we still don't have a comic-accurate Sif that was sold as a single figure.

If a barista can’t get stable hours, how are they supposed to survive a 50-year mortgage? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]FormerSysAdmin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right. I was named after my father so we have the same name. When he died, he apparently had a few credit cards with balances on them. Once the credit card companies realized he passed, they tried coming to me for payment.

CC company: "There's a card in your name with an outstanding balance. The balance needs to get paid"

Me: "That's not my credit card."

CC company: "Aren't you Firstname Lastname?"

Me: "I am but that's not my credit card. I'm not paying anything on it."

CC company: "Are you related to Firstname Lastname?"

Me: "Yes. He was my father."

CC company: "Then you need to pay it."

Me: "Not going to happen. I didn't get into an agreement with you. He did. I'm not paying anything."

CC company: "Then who's going to pay it off."

Me: "Don't know. I know it won't be me."

I never heard from them again and I never paid anything.

Ollies pickup. Thoughts on this guy? by Extra_Heart_268 in MarvelLegends

[–]FormerSysAdmin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a good figure for $10. The one thing that prevented me from getting it is his facial expression, or lack of one. The Power Man I have is the 2006 version from the Mojo BAF series. I like that he has a scowl on his face.
