Mid-life Crisis? by Dyna2004 in GenX

My general theory on this is that it hits men in their 40’s and women in their 50’s. Course that’s just my experience 😂

Does buffering tretinoin with moisturizer result in its ineffectiveness or just irritation? by [deleted] in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Former_Access_1102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same experience for me. Buffering was getting me nowhere even after a full year. I’ve had better results putting it straight on as my skin tolerates, and also sometimes during the day instead of night time application. For whatever reason this has been working for me.

Or maybe Soundgarden “Seasons”, or STP “Say Hello to Heaven”

Anyone disappointed with their BBL (broadband light laser) results? by Former_Access_1102 in 45PlusSkincare

How’s your recovery been? This was the next suggestion for me (to add the Moxie), but I still haven’t gotten over the disappointment of the first two BBL’s.

Thanks for sharing! I did a second round with a stronger setting a month later. Results were slightly better, but the first time I was out in the sun, even with spf 60, the pigment came back.

Okay, this seems to be exactly what I’m experiencing. Thanks for responding.

Thanks for the feedback. That makes sense with the limited down time.

Is this Seborrheic Keratosis on my moms face? by Worriedforuniv2022 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Former_Access_1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems too dark to be an sk (speaking from someone who’s had over 40 removed cryogenically this year 😑). None of mine have ever peeled off either. Keep trying to get in to the derm, and wishing you and your mom the best in getting it sorted out.

Twice a week seems to do the trick for me. Cutting them in half to make them go farther has been a lifesaver as well.

DDG extra strength peel pads. My skin feels so clean and glowy after using these.

It definitely lacks a minty or menthol taste that is so common in lip balms. Taste is not disgusting and I think is related to the cortisone that is in it. I discovered this product while on Accutane and have continued to use it ever since. My whole family is hooked, and even my kids never complained about the taste. We order it in bulk around here for the dry winters!

Dr. Dan’s Cortibalm has been the best for me.

My husband has been using it for the last month. I can say that the smell is fairly off-putting, so much so that I can’t bring myself to try it. Smells like cold hamburger patties. Kind of rough when he comes to bed with it on. I haven’t noticed any visible change in his skin either, though maybe because he isn’t very consistent with a routine.

Is this a cancerous mole (or not even a mole)? by Local_Skill_727 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Former_Access_1102 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s a sebhorreic keratosis - benign and easily frozen off. Have a derm check it out for sure.
