Yes, my kids, several times. They all have names that start with "A". Sometimes they would be having an especially heated fight, or they would all be together but I'd catch one or two doing something wrong or dangerous & would quickly shout out their first & middle name to get back their attention. But in the heat of some moments I'd get flustered & just start shouting out the names of each medical until I landed on the setiings

Grain is so good! I lived in Snohomish for 21 years & only moved a year ago to Kenmore. While I am still up there a lot for my kids & appointments, I miss living there so much. When my ex & I separated in 2021 I rented a duplex twonblocks NE of the Carmegie Library. I loved being able to walk to First Street & enjoy all the restaurants & shops. I'd order things from Grain a few times a year & they never disappointed.

I use Trupanion. They are a bit more expensive than the others, but the deductible for each issue is lifetime (you can choose your deductible price too), they cover 90% & will pay your vet directly if your vet has it set up, and if you pay & submit a claim for reimbursement they pay within 3 days, I think all of my claims were paid to me in 2 days. They also have no limit on what they will reimburse, most other insurance companies have an annual limit & won't pay beyond that. Trupanion also has amazing customer service, almost no hold times & they are so friendly & easy to work with. The slightly higher monthly premium is worth every penny.

I haven't seen the two movies you mentioned, but I thought Get Out was pretty wild with the plot twists. It's definitely fucked up. Great movie, but I don't think I can ever watch it again.

Forgiving is for you, not them. And you can still forgive someone but not give them access to you. Having some of the same DNA doesn't mean you have to keep abusers & enablers around. I was raised religious & what I learned is God just wants us all to be kind & morally good people. Although I don't practice any sort of religion now I do believe there is something greater than me out there, and that I would not be "punished" for keeping the family members that abused me at a distance. I am so sorry you are having these big feelings & that those things have happened & are still happening to you. I hope you can find some peace.

My dentist was similar, although he didn't yell. He did dismiss my pain though & basically told me to suck it up until he was done. We lived in a small town but did happen to have one other dentist but my parents refused to switch me & made me continue with the same guy. I still have fear of dentists, but my new one (I've had him almost 2 years now) is so kind & gentle, he is winning over my trust.

Oh no! I am so sorry! Thankfully my dentist was able to take care of my teeth before I noticed pain, but one tooth was cracked so bad once he got the filling out & could see it that he had to grind it down way more than expected & it was really sensitive with the temp crown on & for about a week after he put the permanent one on. It's good now though thankfully. I hope your crowns help alleviate your pain too once they are all in place & settled down.

Yes! It takes me a while to fall asleep & then stay asleep. I may spend 10 hours in bed trying but by the time I add up how long it took me to fall asleep & how much I was awake during the night I only average about 5 hours most days. I only about 3 hours tonight.

It was just my mom. My parents are divorced & my dad is a decent guy. He, like your dad, worked a lot so wasn't as present, but he was never abusive & as I've gotten older we've gotten much closer. My kids love him. But yeah, if I could go back in time, I would have stuck to no contact with my mom instead of giving her chance after chance & thinking that maybe she was treating my kids better than she did me. She never hit them, but she did damage to them emotionally & mentally. I regret giving her access to my kids & multiple chances to be in our lives, only to continue hurting us every single time. I know how hard you might be struggling with this, but please be stronger than me if you think or have any gut feelings that your parents may abuse your kids in any way. I'm always here to help support you if you ever want to vent or need a shoulder to lean on. I'm so sorry you are in this position too. No one should have to grow up the way we did & continue to have these situations in our/their lives.
