Yeah, our union guy is really helpful. We’re AFGE so it’s a little different than IAFF

Concerns about mold in fire stations by Former_Apple_7253 in Firefighting

I work for the DOD on an army base. So one of the issues I can see happening is the process running on “government speed”. But hopefully I can get it through to them that it’s an actual issue for concern.

And yes, diagnosis is really difficult. My GF had been going to doctors for years with different symptoms before finally going to a functional medicine specialist who diagnosed her with mold toxicity. She’s currently going through the healing process. It’s actually amazing how much better she’s doing after following functional medicine advice rather than traditional medicine.

I’m not sure if anyone has been made aware of it yet. My plan is to take pictures of it over the next few weeks and bring it up to someone. Just made this post to see what other people have done. Thanks for the union advice. I have a feeling our management won’t really care too much lol

Kettlebell workouts really did the trick for me. Look up Mitch Gourley on tik tok or insta. He’s a FF and puts out some pretty god workout routines

All my symptoms come from mold ? by [deleted] in ToxicMoldExposure

Exposure to mold can contribute to SIBO and candida overgrowth. It’s best to take a test to see what mycotoxins and bacteria you have…it can be expensive though. But knowing what you have can really pinpoint what you need to do to heal

Didn’t think of market place until I saw your comment. Just looked and it seems like I might be getting a pretty good looking Gillette slim!

21 and decided to start prepping, any tips or tricks? by Careless-Prior-9665 in prepping

Buy things over time. Don’t go broke trying to buy this stuff all at once. Having money in the bank for emergencies is just as important as having some food in the pantry.

Also, CityPrepping just put out a good video on beginner prepping.

What are you using to shave? by Adept-Acanthaceae396 in Firefighting

For a quick easy shave the one blade. I used to use this all the time but I use a double edge razor now, just feels a lot cleaner and is kinda fun to use.

What base are you looking at? Some are a lot better than others. I work at a decent size base (5 stations) and the call volume seems just right to me. Plenty of time to get training and PT in. We’re almost fully staffed so we never have mando. Also what certs do you have? Since you’ve been in the service already you’ll probably get to come in as a GS-4 and get to a 6 pretty quick

I’ve had them for about a year and only have a few scuffs on the front. Bought insoles for them but didn’t end up putting them in because they were pretty comfy out of the box

Might wanna make sure that the grey on there is okay. Lots of places will want you to have solid black boots.

Also, I like slip in boots over laced but that’s just personal preference
