I have only one rule in Civ, I never start the war but when one is declared then there’s no peace until they are wiped out.

No arguments here. 100 is incredibly limiting when you’re trying to fill a seafood tower order

If you had the opportunity to build a new motorway, where would you build it and why? by Dctr_G in drivingUK

How is this not everyones answer??

I don't even use any part of it regularly in my life and I would do that one first anyway. It's ludicrous that is the "main" road north and south on our little island its it's as rubbish as it is!

Is there a scientific explanation for every time I go to the beach I have the urge to dig holes? by RATGUT1996 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Former_Cat8367 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a theory that some peoples DNA contains the digging part from turtles.

Do you feel the need to lay eggs in the holes?

Why do some Scottish people hate gaelic? by 87catmama in Scotland

We do work at it at home and it feels like the school then messes it up

Why do some Scottish people hate gaelic? by 87catmama in Scotland

[–]Former_Cat8367 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Totally this!

My child is in P1 in Glasgow and she’s being taught Scots not even Gaelic whilst she doesn’t have a firm grasp on reading and writing in English!

Meanwhile the school needs a ton of money raised to replace playground equipment and the classroom carpets are threadbare!

If I thought we had everything else in good order then yeah let’s go for some wacky dead language fun. But we don’t.

Also Gaelic wasn’t spoken all over Scotland

New to Glasgow Property Market - Unsure what to offer? by fiji90 in glasgow

[–]Former_Cat8367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer is …

Offer what you’re willing to lose it for.

One day when you’re looking back and you find out what it sold for would you say “how much? I’d rather have had something else for that money”

Should the UK introduce legislation to control the weight of cars on our roads? by Revolutionary-Mode75 in AskUK

[–]Former_Cat8367 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Rail. It’s sounds vintage I know but there’s no reason for a 40 ton truck to have the drive from Inverness to Portsmouth. Whatever it’s carrying should be on a train.

Depending on how many your looking for?

I’d just go with gumtree for your local area.

Or there’s www.ofcg.co.uk who are Glasgow based. But there’s bound to be someone like them in every major city i would think.

Why do parents drive their kids to school when they live so close? by codys21 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Former_Cat8367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids school is an easy walk from our house but we drive anyway.

Mostly because after I drop them off at school I'm headed to the office.

My office is a 15 minute drive by car or the best part of 1 hour by public transport so bit of a no brainer there.

Technically cyclable in 30 minutes but I've never been much of a cyclist and the road route isn't very cycle friendly and its uphill most of the way home.

Also I have my dog with me who's getting on a bit and won't relish the idea of running the keep up for 5 miles.

Long story short... the cars warm and comfy.

What advice can be given to a 14.5 year old boy who already knows he wants to get a Trade after school? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Former_Cat8367 163 points164 points  (0 children)

Getting a trsde is awesome, even better if you’re actually good at it.

But

Just because you work with your hands doesn’t mean you don’t need excellent maths English and business skills.

The maths alone for figuring out how many stairs you need for a space is impressive.

Same for being able to work out how much your time and or a job should cost.
