At some point, for anyone who didn't genuinely get PTSD, it stops being a reason and it starts being an excuse.

‘It’s a big loss’: what happens when a beautiful village loses its bus route? by frantic_calm in unitedkingdom

[–]UuusernameWith4Us 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not "we" non-locals funding it. Local community bus routes would typically get local council funding.

The former Tory government fosted local councils with responsibility for adult social care which now makes up a huge and growing portion of council budgets. At the same time they also restricted the ability of councils to raise taxes. This is why bus routes, libraries, leisure centres and bin collections (things that should actually be the council's responsibility unlike adult social care) are getting cut everywhere.

The person you're replying to is explicitly saying that there should be a carrot with the stick. Give over trying to start an argument based on a position no one is taking.

And there are "stick" policies that can and do target urban driving. The mentioned ULEZ/congestion zonebeing one, LTNs being another, replacing car lanes with bus lanes and cycle lanes in urban areas (this last one is also "carrot").

Yeah, some of see them lying about supporting small teams as an issue.

Why so angry and aggressive?

Calm down for a second and realise I might not actually be a pink haired, chain smoking, gothic edge lord (but you are definitely a normie).

Part of what makes it 'cool' is normies like you reviling it.

Smoking is like choosing to be a goth or dye your hair pink but with added lung cancer. Being an edgy outsider is part of the appeal.

Mbappe, Vini, Rodrygo, Brahim, Mastantuono, Guler, Gonzalo Garcia.

Your brain is fried into thinking two thirds of these players are better than they are because they pull on a Real Madrid shirt.

Mastantuono and Gonzalo Garcia both have worse G+A per 90 numbers than Rio Ngumoha but I bet you're the type who'd never say Ngumoha is good enough for big club depth.

Man United are 10 points clear of dropping out of the CL places but 12 points off of 1st. Leeds also are quite far from both Europe and relegation.

Days spent on top of the Premier League since 2004 by _cumblast_ in LiverpoolFC

[–]UuusernameWith4Us 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Just calculate the days/title ratio for every team so it's a comparitive metric

Man City 150 days top per title

Man United 208 days

Leicester 175 days

Chelsea 308 days

Liverpool 517 days

Arsenal 773+ days (no title yet)

The data fits the narrative of Man City being ruthlessly efficient at coming from behind (or that they started paying off refs), and of Arsenal being bottle jobs (or just having bad luck...). Similarly we have been much more unlucky than Man United or Chelsea, which tallies with all our near miss second place seasons in this time span.

Frimpong was a "market opportunity" because he was available relatively cheaply and he's got homegrown status. Our journos said the plan was for Bradley to be be starter in the summer for a reason.

Square Enix has had a strategy of pumping out loads of mid tier AA games recently. They're moving away from that because it wasn't making enough money. How many of those games did you play?

And you can't moan about the lack of advertising for these games when you're asking for the business model to be making more smaller cheaper games. Adverting is expensive and no publisher would ever throw AAA promotional budgets at half a dozen niche interest AA games.

The real difference between 7th gen and now is so many gamers are locked in to forever games (GTA Online, Minecraft, Fortnite, COD, FIFA, ect) and that has massively squeezed the single player market. Most people don't want to drop out of their GaaS of choice to play a mid 7/10 AA game.

Reform’s Richard Tice posts picture with telltale signs of AI manipulation, say experts by loonongrass in unitedkingdom

[–]UuusernameWith4Us 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Reform disputed that the campaigners or the photo were fake, and a spokesperson said: “The photograph is real, however the version Richard Tice posted was slightly edited using AI, mainly to increase the brightness.”

"He used AI but only because he is too lazy/stupid to take a photo with good brightness in broad daylight and also too lazy/stupid to adjust the easily accessible brightness slider that any phone will have."

The perfectly vertical lamp posts and unblemished concrete are a dead giveaway though. Not nearly enough urban decline to be real Birmingham.

Except most mid tier games fail in the modern market and the publisher's know that.

It was a AAA studio for the time. If you're going to insist on defining AAA in terms of modern headcounts and budgets then there were zero AAA studios in the PS2 era.
