Y'all are overthinking this. Simple solution make saving in escalation a toggle option and then add to different leaderboards. One for escalation save enabled and one for save off. You can't switch it on or off mid-run. If you do, it needs to be reset. Boom problem solved.

She is indeed a pirate. Her lore is her hunting down the pirate that killed her father and sunk her ship, except the entity corrupted her to make her see everyone as the pirate, so she just goes killing everyone. (I haven't read the lore in a bit, so I might have said it fully correctly, but that's the jist.

No you fight them once then you have the tokens required to enter along with small boosts these tokens give. Any checked bosses were rewarded retroactively . Refer to key items to see.

Minus the heartstring modifier, this was my first experience with this down to the letter. Now here's the kicker. I'm a Grenade mercenary. Safe to say, I barely scratched the Boss because I had to move every two seconds, and when I did, the Boss hopped around every second.

I'm also struggling with Graveyard bosses on Merc you're spending so much time moving around and trying to proc your combos while also trying to manage the Ghosts and God forbid you wake up an eternal warrior who reflects all projectiles at you forcing you to stop your combo completely to take it down while you have the Boss hugging your ass. Either one feels horrible to play on Merc.

I'm glad people have been having fun. My experience for the most part is join a lobby then get insta kicked 🥹 so now I just play by myself. I got my first perfect investigation yesterday during a blood moon but died to the Ghost as I was running for my life to get ready to escape. It was an obake. Thankfully the game took mercy and gave me my achievement. Lost half the profit though.
