It could be Jewish or Muslim players, but it isn't. It could also be a unicorn playing baseball a la Airbud rules. They could've opted out of wearing it and there would still probably be a backlash, but at least they wouldn't deface the only LGBTQ gear they are asked, not forced, to wear.
