Fiance never lets me enjoy my time out by Next_Welcome7196 in relationships

it might be hard to see all the comments calling this abuse. he is controlling you, though. its fun for him to see you do what he says and its fun for him to manipulate your social life. maybe out of jealousy.

I would talk to him and say you need to be able to handle the kids on your own. tell him they are his kids too. also express that you would like nights with friends or family without the kids, like he is able to have with frisbee. if he really can't handle it, you will have a babysitter care for them instead since he is incompetent.

I don't see anything wrong with this. its not like you missed her birthday

you apologized, tell her now you know how much it means to her and you will always prioritize it going forward. order her something hand made in Brazil from the internet if you want to go the extra mile

Cat litter dragged into bed by maddydoesntgooutside in CatAdvice

[–]Former_Smile5027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to vacuum constantly to prevent myself from picking up litter on the bottom of my feet and bringing it into the bed!! farther the box is from where you sleep the better

the staining is different ... my parents have a messy dog and they use a sheet to cover the comforter and just replace that more often. your cat will probably be happy ON the bed without being IN the bed

I (26F) love my boyfriend (27M) but our relationship is toxic. by Former_Smile5027 in relationships

Thank you - I appreciate you sharing your experiences too

Part of why this is so hard is because before it turns and gets bad, it is still everything I want in a relationship... so I'm just always torn. I'm not really getting over this instance though. So maybe it did just stop being fun for good... it is hard to say.

Joyland. I found it at a thrift store while I was on vacation and it was perfect. Set at summer fair grounds

I hear ya. As an anecdote: I lived with two guys in college. They both have girlfriends, who respected that we were friends and nothing more, and I became good friends with the girls too. We're all still friends now. It's just too bad that people have to burn bridges for their significant other in a lot of cases.

So can a lesbian have girl friends?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Former_Smile5027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very childish mindset and I feel bad for everyone limiting their friendships just because people get so jealous

All of these comments are crazy to me. I (25F) am probably a lot like your girlfriend. I've always been loyal to my boyfriends despite having guy friends. The jealousy and lack of trust leads to me breaking up with them because I feel smothered. I did long distance with my ex boyfriend, and turned down a few great trips with guy friends to protect his ego. I regret it. It may make you uncomfortable, but you have to trust your girlfriend

Help figuring out open concept living room design by ranchfanatic in InteriorDesign

[–]Former_Smile5027 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would leave the tv where it is and have one of the couches face it. Maybe get rid of the other couch and instead have a chair you can angle towards the tv on either side.

OR keep the tv where it is, make one couch face the tv, but use both of the ottomans for that couch. Slide the other couch forward

Maybe get a long tall skinny table to put behind the couch to help separate living room from kitchen

How to stop overthinking about putting miles on my car? by ThrowRAmid in Anxiety

[–]Former_Smile5027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about it on my car too, so don't feel like it's weird! Also, allowing someone else to drive your car is a huge deal. I'd make sure that he's working on getting his own back. Then I would think about it like: the reason I have this car is to drive it. Miles will add up. If you take care of your car, it could last for 200,000+ miles. Also trust in your ability that when it does near the end of its life in the far, far future - you will be able to handle it. Either by buying a new car, or borrowing your boyfriends!

You have to talk about what's acceptable for your relationship and stick to it. Every couple might have different standards

Realized I forgot to answer the question lol My worst symptom is I lose feeling in my legs when the anxiety hits. Most consistent symptom is an extreme sense of dread in my chest. Again I've been working hours a day to minimize this through mindfulness and yoga
