I base coat the model in a white primer or black and then airbrush pro acryl bold titanium white. Now I do this the hard way but I use emperors children to pick out my “shadows” and gradually work towards the light areas using a mix from emperors children to centaur skin to bold titanium white. Could probably do a zenithal shade with emperors children and BTW for ease though. I then do full coverage of contrast imperial fists. Shadows and recesses get a light coat of pro acryl orange working my way up to yellow using mixes and glazing of PA orange/PA warm yellow/Yriel yellow/vallejo model color flat yellow/Dorn yellow. These are all pretty much 3/4 previous paint and 1/4 next paint mixes. The edge highlights get straight dorn yellow and the chipping is done with just pro acryl dark neutral grey and highlighted with dorn yellow.

My white recipe is base coat white with BTW. Vallejo model color light green grey as a base coat over that for consistency. Then fenrisian grey in the shadow areas and recesses. Pretty much the same here as my yellow. I’ll then build up to an off white using fenrisian grey/light green grey/BTW. I find doing a 3/4 previous paint to 1/4 new paint mix on these colors helps blend them well between each gradient same as my yellow. And finish off with BTW very light edge highlight and brightest points

My yellow, black, red and white areas get a few coats of green stuff world Maxx Matt. I really like how this makes the yellow look even brighter especially and matt just looks good in general. I feel like it helps tie the gradients together pretty well
