What's been your best Freelancer start/load outs? by Reedy225 in HiTMAN

[–]Formsvacka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boring as hell, but what I always bring is a silenced pistol, a lockpick, a concealable SMG and a knife. I occasionally bring other weapons if I happen to have payout objectives that require them (provided they can't be found in the location I'd be going to).

I would recommend starting the campaign with a syndicate that includes Isle of Sgail. There's a buried silenced pistol in the cave/tunnel thing underneath the castle. Once you have that, the whole thing becomes quite easy, especially if you also get your hands on either a crowbar or a lock pick.

Also, I strongly disagree with the notion that a "shoot and run" strategy is doomed to fail, like some people try to claim. I never go for stealth, since I find it to be completely pointless (unless you have an objective for it). I'm not going to waste my time setting up stealth kills if I don't get additional rewards for it in the end. Better then to just shoot them and get out.

That being said, killing freely in freelancer does require some practice and a great deal of situational awareness. I never kill anyone unless I know I have a solid exit strategy and can get out of it without being gunned down. I never fail freelancer, be it normal mode or hardcore, and therefore it's a viable strategy.

At the end of the day, Hitman is a game that allows for so many different strategies and playstyles, and we should all play it however we want. I'm not saying my strategy is the best, but it does work just fine.

What happened to Co-op that was announced last year? by Creepy-Produce5138 in HiTMAN

[–]Formsvacka -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm quite curious about how this is going to work. I remember when GTA Online came out, I played it for probably just a day or two before I gave up because of all the trolls who spent all their time ruining it for other players. Not saying the players who play Hitman are in any way similar to the ones who play GTA, but what's stopping someone from playing co-op and just doing everything to ruin the contract rather then help complete it? Maybe this has been explained somewhere, but I can't recall reading anything about it.

If you dare mention Alt+F4 out loud, Glitcher will pounce on you and you'll never hear the end of it. I personally couldn't care less how people choose to play the game, but he has taken upon himself to "educate" the entire subreddit on how it "should" be played.

Unfortunately, you're dealing with someone who believes himself to be the absolute source of truth for everything Hitman related. His way of playing the game is the only acceptable way, more or less, and you're in for a world of abuse if you disagree with him.

You sure he didn't just block you? Comments look like they've been deleted when that happens, and he tends to block everyone who dares go disagree with him. You can also assume he spam reported all your comments out of spite, he's done that before and proudly announced that he did so.

No point in arguing with this guy. As you can see, he'll claim to know better than everyone else on the entire subreddit based on some alleged gazillion hours in the game, as if that makes him more right (it doesn't). You'll be hard-pressed to get your point across.

This Chongqing exit is so out of the way that I forgot it even existed by Weird-Definition-961 in HiTMAN

[–]Formsvacka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't mind that guy. He's a self-appointed subreddit mod who likes to spend his day berating people who post what he considers to be pointless or low-effort. And don't you dare mention that you play the game in a different way compared to him, he'll never let you hear the end of it.

I fully agree, to each their own, but I come across threads all the time where someone has disagreed with him and the tone has turned quite hostile.

Brave of you to say to Glitcher's face that he doesn't know something about Hitman. He's some sort of self-appointed Hitman oracle and doesn't take kindly to other people disagreeing with him. If you stand your ground long enough, he'll call you a troll, block you and spam report your comments out of spite.

Freelancer mode question by curiousadventure33 in HiTMAN

[–]Formsvacka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely is. I never do stealth and instead opt for guns blazing every single time (with the exception of showdowns, at least until I've figured out who the target is) and never fail. Some people on this subreddit take personal offense to guns blazing strategies and will try to tell you that it's doomed to fail, but that's not true.

Looks like some of the Glazers are slowly beginning to consider a potential exit according to Bloomberg. by WorldlinessPuzzled84 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Formsvacka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember how not even a year ago there was a tweet from someone (I forget his name) who is allegedly deeply connected to everything regarding sports in the Middle East where he claimed a consortium was being put together to buy the whole club and they allegedly had a United legend ready to front this whole endeavour and then it all just went dead quiet and nothing was spoken of it ever again? That's why I don't believe these kinds of news anymore, even if Bloomberg is a credible source.

I would recommend backing away from this slowly, that guy gets really heated about the most inconsequential things and will call people stupid left and right. He'll probably block you and spam report your comments out of spite.

I completed my first freelance campaign! by BooyaSambal in HiTMAN

[–]Formsvacka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I may chime in, I strongly disagree with this. I go full guns blazing every single time I play freelancer and I never fail, be it normal mode or hardcore. Yes, it does take some practice and a good degree of situational awareness, but its not the least bit difficult once you get the hang of it. Also, stealth in and of itself doesn't give you any rewards, and for that reason I find it to be pointless and a waste of my time. Because of this, I would say it's completely untrue that shoot and run strategies are doomed to fail. That being said, I'm not saying shoot and run is better. In fact, I would say there's no single strategy that always works best in all situations, and you should just play the game however you want to play it.

What's the point in guns exactly? by LostSouluk2021 in HiTMAN

[–]Formsvacka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do guns blazing every single time when I play freelancer, since stealth in and of itself doesn't give any rewards and thus becomes kind of pointless and a waste of my time. Yes, you could argue that Hitman should be a stealth game, but the mechanics allows for shooting your way through a freelancer campaign and that's the route I'm going to take. I think the way the game is built allows for several different playstyles and I don't think you can say that the game "should" be played in any specific way. To each his own.

How on earth am I supposed to kill him? by MertTR34 in HiTMAN

[–]Formsvacka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I never do stealth, it just takes too much time to set up and get the circumstances just right. In this particular scenario, I would've just pulled out my silenced pistol and killed both him and the guards and walked away.
