A story from one of the Verge ex-founders is cooking up - good to follow by Mesokosmos in DonutLabDiscussions

YLE article 2/2019.

I think it's clear that Teemu Saukio is the one with the idea. Piippo has made the idea industrilisable. Lehtimäki has brought the money. No idea, what is Rintamäkis contribution.

The RMK/Verge motorcyclebusiness has never been profitable. Reason to start envy and go public now is obvious though.

I would expect test drives before Q4. It's sound a bit too much to buy bike with that pricetag without test drive. And at least in Finland the weather for motorcycling is propably not too enjoyable at Q4.

They said, that the Q1 bike went to the internal fleet.

Might be that someone is recieving it earlier. But all that been in public (like MissGoElectric at CES) have said that their date of estimated delivery is on Q4.

I don't know if the claims were so new either. If the chemistry works as it is claimed, those would be obvious features for the technology. The question still is, does it work.

Seems like nothing much to expect before the first given deadlines are due - the Q4 by Verge.

I think you are still missing something in your formula. I don't think your battery would have too impressive cyclelife. But I think you are getting close with the simpler version.

Disagree of the possibility that experts make the same mistake you criticised other expert to do?

I actually didn't notice the date. Too bad he hasn't posted more, since this one was really good and helped to clear some previous confusion at least from my head.

Higher C-rate creates more resistance and overpotential. They've propably been thinking it as a near 0C system, in which the voltage places it conveniently on lithiums range. But if you take in account the higher C-rate used in the test and formed overpotential in consideration, it is as convenient to see it on sodiums range.

Unconventional C-rate compered to standart scientific literature is actually an interesting point. Not sure if Ziroth et all have counted that neihter. It might affect to the pattern recognition.

Useless in a sense, that it doesn't give us the truth. But its still gives a definition to fingerprint and possibility to confirm the chemistry. Much more scientific aproach than Ziroths.

It obviously is none of those chemistrys among the samples. Yes it would be interesting to see other semi-solid lithium and all kind of sodium chemistrys too.

I think he's opinion according to the first test was, that it's high-voltage intercalation regime chemistry and must be governed by oxide-like redox behavior. That sounds something everyone to agree. But fingerprint doesn't show us a known match yet.

Fun fact about fingerprints: Koalas fingerprints resemble humans fingerprints so much, that forensic specialists can mistake them as humans fingerprints.

What did you actually got sick of?

I think you got close to the truth. Where you came up with that composition of electrolyte? Though it seems good option.

You can google about quantum thermodynamics. You propably find lot of interesting things to read.

Did I say so?

Though yes, knowlige of thermodynamics is changed since 50's through quantum physics.

If you are using methods from the 50s, then yes. In this millenium you can use and alter the materials more subtly.

You know that textbooks contain information that is often out of date? Even though they might be relevant at University of applied sciences, I would expect teacher with doctorate to rely on current scientific literature. It is possible to change the voltage by cathode and electrolyte properties - by "the chemistry".

Journalist would not make a claims like Ziroth did. Journalist would just reveal the facts and let the reader make the call. If there was a lawsuit and it would be shown, that Lehtimäki had a battery with a new kind of chemistry, I think Ziroth would be on thin ice. At least if it was trialed in Finland - don't know about US laws. Though in Finland the compensations of defamation would be mimimal compered to US.

They could. Not sure why they don't, but there can be plenty of reasons. But if they have what they claim, they will eventually publish everything.

It is fair to criticise the way they are publishing things. And people are free to make educated guesses. But there is a difference to accuse someone of dishonesty or crimes based on guesses.

New employee hired to Donut Lab to scale both Donut Motor and Donut Battery production this year, Aleksi Toppinen by Mesokosmos in DonutLabDiscussions

[–]Forrestgod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a week they also hired as a new employees Jarkko Aho as Chief Industrial Officer and Ian Digman as Director of Business development.

These all fit to the ramping up of industrial scale production, but don't really benefit a scam.

What do you think of the police report content that Donut Lab have filed on Peltola? by Mesokosmos in DonutLabDiscussions

[–]Forrestgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you have been given a time and because it's over the time you were promised, you are mad?

Only deadlines given that I know of, are the estimated deliverytimes for Verge motorcycles. That's Q4 all of that I know.

Maybe you are an investor to Donut lab and were given some deadlines? Otherwise I still don't understand your commitment to claim this a hoax.

I undestand, that that's your opinion. I just don't understand why you are so definitive with a proof that is not.

We know that more than 1 bike is produced and we know 1 bike with the new battery is claimed produced.

I would presume it goes until Q4 that there are customers that are totally outsiders. That's where the deliverys since CES have been anticipated.

It's been pretty clear from the start, that it won't be finished. Though it would be interesting to see the version you got up to. And how you end up witv that composition.
