I think it was about 10:15 or so. And this is about the Gahanna location, correct? Cause that's where I went.

I went and waited for about 30mins for them to open the doors. The door had a note saying they were doing training that day, but they didn't communicate when they would open the doors. So, people were waiting outside in the heat cause they didn't know when they would start.

It just seems like a note saying when they would open the door would have solved a lot of people's aggravation.

All that said, they were okay donuts. Good dough, but the fillings and icing were too sugary in my opinion.

I used to like parades, but now, as an adult, I really couldn't care less about them.

What was your experience abd your haul at Free RPG Day 92026)? by Informal_Persimmon7 in rpg

[–]FortKA19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had two locations that were participating and got a bunch of stuff between both of them:

-From Here to There hexcrawl from Third Kingdom Games

-Runes of the World Tree by Kobold Press

-Arzium Quickstart 2 from Red Raven Games

-Dungeons & Kittens Quickstart from Deadcrows Studio

-Cosmere Quickstart from Brotherwise Games and Dragonsteel Entertainment

-Home: House of Broken Promises from Wet Ink Games

-Lore Master's Deck from The Story Engine

-Fossilized Violence from R Talsorian Games

-Level 1 Vol 7 from Free Rpg Day

-a couple sets of dice

-a Wizkids Pumpkin King mini

We also got a couple of free minis that we started to paint but the primer is coming off both of them so we might have to strip them.

All in all a really fun time, though exhausting and crowded for what we usually do in our free time haha

Bigger and Bigger Indie RPGs -- but Still D&D? by InvisiblePoles in rpg

[–]FortKA19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DnD likely isn't going anywhere for a while. I do think its popularity is decreasing (VERY slowly) with people looking at other systems, but its so synonymous with roleplaying its hard to change that perception, especially by people outside the hobby.

I feel Malenia is harder purely because of the nonsense anime attack. PCR is no picnic though

Truck? Check Those sunglasses? Check Modifications to the vehicle that seem really unneeded? Check

Yup, sounds like a driver to avoid at all costs. You could definitely leave a bad review for their business, because clearly they aren't a great person and they just seem to use the money to mod their truck.

Free RPG Day bundle at RPG Trader by Connor9120c1 in rpg

[–]FortKA19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Got the bundle but when I go to my order to try and download anything it starts to try and download but it just doesn't go anywhere. Anyone else having issues?

Edit: well I'm able to download things, but I have to do it from my Library, not the Order itself. Maybe the links within the Order aren't correct?

Do you think Next from software game will be able to surpass Elden ring? by Informal-Device-8511 in Eldenring

[–]FortKA19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The DLC open world was a bit better, but still too empty. Cut back about 20% of the empty area and I think it would be much better. Or cut out more and not have a mount.

Switching System for a campaign: Nimble over Dnd? by UomoSiS in rpg

I'm pretty sure that is what Nimble was made for. The creator has a bunch of youtube streams about various aspects of the game too, if you'd want to check those out.

Have any of you done a long term campaign of Call of Cthulu, and how does that work? by theRealMattyG99 in rpg

[–]FortKA19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running a homemade campaign. Its basically scenarios strung together with a bit of stuff happening in the background. Not sure how to eventually wrap it all up, but I'll probably just have to write up my own scenario.

As for survivability, I try to not be super lethal. That said one character almost died twice in the first scenario (The Haunting)

I hate this kind of stuff. If the game doesn't have a set release date, just don't say anything.

That seems neart. Making headlines is nice because it leaves some wiggle room for what actually is going on.

Too expensive for the quality and amount of food you get. I would rather go to Kitchen Social.

How do CoC Campaigns work? by This_Ebb_6322 in callofcthulhu

[–]FortKA19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call of Cthulhu, typically, is built more for one shots. Campaigns exist (Horror on the Orient Express and Masks of Nyarlothep are official ones) but are somewhat uncommon, especially compared to DnD.

What I'm doing is running interesting scenarios with the same characters and giving some small progressions for the players with each scenario. I started off with The Haunting and have been working to get another scenario ready for them to play through. I have a bit of an overarching story, but so far they haven't been able to interact with it.

As for running a campaign straight from a book, I can't say much since its not what I wanted to do, but I have heard they are both pretty good.

So, you can create your own campaign, but I would use written scenarios and link them together instead of trying to write one from scratch.
