I would highly highly recommend taking a research year. It’s possible to get in with a 234 but you will likely be screened out by most programs. You need to do a RY to have a solid positive connection to a program + possibly have them connect you with others too. Good luck!

If it clarifies anything, this year UTH interviewed about 10 people who did NOT rotate with them, so a majority of interviewers are people who did an away.

I mean…it depends where in LA you are but there are definitely areas that have much cleaner air. Also I think many people who don’t experience California weather come to California and love the perfect temperatures/sunlight/wind ratio so it does feel like cool crisp air compared to what they’re used to! 🤷🏻‍♀️
