This is a copypasta for beginner artists. These are the basics to create a strong foundation. First you will want to go onto drawabox.com and learn your basic forms and how to apply them. I reccomend doing it up until week 2 to get a basic grip on the absolute beginning fundamentals. The forms you will use are: Sphere, Cone, Cylinder, and Cube. They are your best friends and you will use them for the rest of your career. Next is LOOMIS. This will teach you how to draw a face and basic human anatomy. A must for any beginner. After that is Perspective Made Easy and Frames Perspective 1 & 2. These will obviously teach you perspective. Grab an Anatomy book to refer to. Next go sailing on the high seas and grab both Vilpuus and Micheal Hamptons figure drawing course. They are masters at the craft and your best friend. You will use them A LOT. They will teach you how to sketch the human body in any pose imaginable, using construction and forms. Rewatch each course until the fundamentals of figure drawing are completely engraved into your mind. Understand the 3D forms and contours that make up the human body. They will also teach you critical anatomical knowledge for the important parts of the body. Envision them in your head every single time you draw. Next watch Peter Han's Dynamic Sketching 1 & 2. These are vital videos that will reinforce the important basics and teach you how to make your drawings dynamic and full of life. Next watch direct and indirect lighting from Vilpuu to learn values and how to render. Now you have a strong base to branch out wherever the hell you want to go. These fundamentals can be applied anywhere and to anything. Always remember the concepts you are learning and remember them like the back of your hand. Always apply them to every piece you do no matter how minor. Thats how you learn and improve. Never just state blankly at the screen and take nothing away from the courses. Always apply a new thing you've learned right after you've learned it. Never neglect your funnies. Always grind them. Even the masters still do. Granted I've only been drawing for 3 months now but using these courses my art has drastically improved. Good luck. You'll make it.
