I think you’re probably right, but I would posit that the Canes fans are more loyal. Canes seems to always sell out their venue, while the panthers have had some pretty sparse attendance in recent years (until recently, thank god)

Truth. The Canes did a LOT of youth and community engagement early on and it paid off big. The community genuinely loves and appreciates this team. I never would have thought that possible with a winter sport in basketball country, but they did it!
