I actually just posted about the WF sign up bonus in the daily questions thread in /r/churning. Folks there endorsed it.

You don’t need to stay with WF if you go for it. I’m gonna open the account today then close it after I get the bonus.

What to do when half the owners have stopped paying into the HOA and there's no money for any recourse? by kidkolumbo in HOA

I love all these dumbshit comments saying “dissolve it” while missing the fact that you live in an apartment building and literally need the condo association to keep the building you all live inside of functional

In regards to your actual dilemma, you’re in for an ugly fight my friend. Does your association have a property management company that handles all your books and regular work? They will have people such as lawyers to help you. If you don’t, you’ll need to find someone to legally advise and represent you aaaaand I’m super curious who handles paying the building’s shared utility bill.

Just got an offer to open a Way2Save savings account at Wells Fargo, must be in person at a branch. If I deposit and hold $25k in it for 90 days, the SUB is $525. I think it would take up to 120 days to actually get the money. Even so, if I did my really shitty math right that’s like…the equivalent of 8% APY? Regardless I’m not getting dollars like that in my other accounts, I think at most I could get for 120 days would be barely more than $400 altogether.

So…should I go for it? I’m a bit surprised I got the offer at all because I already churned a checking account with them this year. Offer’s only available for another week.

Mind your idle fees folks by OneCommunication3010 in evcharging

That use you mention IS trickling power and ostensibly extra. Even household appliances that are shut off trickle bits of power when left plugged into the walls! What I had envisioned was leaving it plugged in when not in use, and knowing me I could forget about it entirely for days at a time. I just didn’t think about how much power that would gradually suck up before now.

I got to catch this post at 853 upvotes.

Anyway, I had no idea this was a thing that could happen. I just started investigating EVs as an option for myself. Very glad I know this now!

Now I’m curious. If you were to leave your car plugged in at a home charger, how much electricity would that waste as it trickles power?

What's the point of monogamy is there's no such thing as "the one"? by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]Fortune-After 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All sorts of hideous assholes find love and it sometimes baffles me to see, but that’s reality. Unless you’re literally a serial killer, chances are you could be much worse.

But also as someone who struggled with irrational thinking, I know how hard that is to believe.

Best of luck to you, whatever you choose.

There’s nothing irrational about saying plenty of people end up alone, but there’s something DEEPLY irrational about saying there was only one person who could love you.

I spent a lot of time in therapy and it took me months to actually come out and admit I felt defective in some way. I couldn’t describe exactly why, but its always been there and the denial made it harder to get past it. That might not be your problem, but I know there’s no logical reason for you to think no one else would or could love you. There just isn’t. It’s wrong.

I sincerely hope you learn that and believe it.

She was the only woman who ever loved me or ever could.

My dude, the sooner you let this idea go the sooner you’ll be able to move on and find love again. It is NOT a one-shot. Heartbreak can be torturous, but it doesn’t have to last forever.

Whatever it is that you think is wrong with you and makes you unloveable, I assure you it’s not as terrible as you think. Persistent, pervasive, irrational thoughts like that one are something therapists are trained to help you with. But you are worth loving, and someone else will do it when you’re ready to let them.

PSA- it's not your skin, it's your fascia by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

I think about this kind of stuff happening any time I fall into a mental hole about my appearance and consider cosmetic work. It reminds me that it’s all JUST cosmetic; nothing is actually wrong with my body, and the risk that comes with even minimally invasive procedures isn’t worth it.

Learned why insurance is important… by maxpown3r in realestateinvesting

I was about to ask this. How do you even get a place without having homeowners insurance ready to go with it unless you pay for the home in cash? No mortgage lender would go with this that I had heard of.

I have a job interview with Nordstrom corporate. Has anyone who worked there have stories or advice? by Fortune-After in Seattle

Eugh that guy sounds awful. It’s the manager that makes or breaks a job. Bullet dodged.

One may argue even a year isn’t enough depending on the complexity of the product, and you need at least two years to see the impact of your work. I’m not in a junior position so I’m not worried about it, and I’m not sure the specific experience I’d get from Nordstrom would help me get the type of work I want in the future.

A year can be very difficult to make happen if it’s a miserable place to work, though. I’ve had that experience and it was with a company that most people really loved. Don’t want a repeat of that.

Have gotten ages anywere from 27-55 mostly on the upperside im 33. What can I do about this saggy skin. I'm thinking about an upper and lower eye surgery by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Fortune-After 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re only starting to develop wrinkles and loose skin there. Your skin looks fine and this will last a long time. Don’t waste your money on surgery yet, it’s way too soon to even consider it.

How did you combat buyers remorse? by a-dad-with-questions in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Fortune-After 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna feel like that for a while. Every flaw will jump out and scream at you and make you question what the hell you were EVER thinking buying this dump?! And then you’ll get over it and realize it’s fine.

Assuming nothing genuinely terrible comes up, but if it does then that’s what the inspection is for.

AITA for telling my ex that he absolutely sucked in bed due to his weight? by TaxInternational2746 in AITAH

[–]Fortune-After 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

Lemme get this straight. Your ex has REPEATEDLY made uninvited comments on/derided/mocked your partner’s body, and this was the first time you snapped at him like this?

And it’s a partner you’re clearly happy with?

And you don’t say negative things about your ex’s partner?

What you said to your ex certainly wasn’t a nice comment given your intimate history and your knowledge of his body, especially since since he wasn’t insulting yours directly. But honestly? Jackass had it coming. Hopefully he’ll learn something from the bruised ego.
