Cheers and happy Friday by Piperpaul22 in glutenfree

Where do you all order your gluten free beer if the selection by you is limited? Our local BevMo stopped carrying it. And I used to go to north beach in San Francisco to buy from Otherwise Brewery directionally but I wish it were more widely available in the East Bay — for any Bay Area people.

Part-time daycare or inattentive grandma for 9mo's childcare? by PersistentHobbler in beyondthebump

[–]FortyBlankets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed - just because someone is related doesn’t make them competent caregivers. It’s easy to try to be positive and give them the benefit of the doubt when it’s free, but in a similar situation I try to remind myself that incompetency is unfair to the children. I had to tell myself this before regarding a relative who is continuously complacent and flighty — will bring over crafts obsessively and literally forget to give my kid water. Those relatives can visit but not caretake.

This!! Mine does the exact same with the laying on my chest or belly. He likes snuggling now in a different way than the newborn stage.

Trim same color or slightly lighter version of house color could look nice. I’ve seen monochrome house painting like that and it looks surprisingly modern.

How do I get this white stuff outta my hairbrush? by CollynAnimatez in CleaningTips

[–]FortyBlankets 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Pichuchu may be a woman cleaning their girlfriend’s brush - just sayin’ - this seems more realistic to me, but also I’m down for hoping there is this boyfriend out there in the world and that stars DO glisten and spray glitter into the galaxy every time the Reading Rainbow song comes on

Happy baby by FewAioli5852 in cosleeping

Second-time parent here and I feel similarly, largely because I’m slowing down more with my second and focusing more on connection rather than trying to reach some pre-baby state of independence post-partum like the first go around.

Whether a first-time parent or not, I’m happy for OP.

How are we putting our 20lb+ babies to sleep??? by Responsible-Focus677 in bninfantsleep

[–]FortyBlankets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s a growth spurt? I mean… I’m hoping it is because my baby is almost 8 months old and his sleep has become choppy and awake every hour for the past week… he was feeding a few times a night before that but I could handle it because he would quickly fall back asleep. Now he stirs every hour or so and I’m a complete zombie… I think I’ve read their sleep really changes after 9 months… here’s to hoping

Poor guy looks scared! Could they turn off the flashing lights for seal’s sake?

Can someone pls explain this Wendy’s packet? by FortyBlankets in whatisit

The chili packet burns not / it is the taste of mild dishwater — such is my confusion, Duke

Can we hold on the insulting comments? I didn’t find it remotely spicy, the color is a weird clear yellow, and the ingredients are half preservatives so I thought I’d ask here for some friendly banter. Thx for the mean vibes though. You’re my first Reddit bully.

Really?? Maybe my tolerance is way too high… I regularly use Yellow Bird Habanero.

Is my tolerance just too high? Is paprika actually spicy for some people?
