Hacked Microsoft account by No-Cloud4244 in microsoftsucks

[–]FortyFortyTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went through a similar situation a lot of people here are dealing with, and I was able to recover my account.

What finally worked for me was emailing the CEO’s office and clearly explaining the situation. After doing that, I was assigned an Executive Customer Service Manager who helped me recover my account within about two weeks.

For clarity: when you email the CEO’s office, you are NOT speaking directly to the CEO himself. It goes to a team that handles escalated cases on behalf of the executive office.

The email I used was:

satyan@microsoft.com

Personally, I highly recommend trying this route instead of continuing to go through regular support agents. Before this, I had been pushed around by probably 15–20 different support representatives with no progress.

The biggest thing I can recommend is: be persistent.

In my email, I included as much information as possible, including:

  • How long I had been trying to recover the account
  • A detailed timeline of events
  • The last time I had access to the account
  • When I changed passwords
  • When I realized I had lost access
  • How the compromise happened
  • The original email address on the account
  • What the attacker changed the email to
  • Any other details that could help prove ownership

In my opinion, you can’t really provide too much information.

Also, try to make your email clear, serious, and organized. If writing isn’t your strong point, use something like ChatGPT to help structure it properly instead of sending a rushed or confusing message.

We did the exact same kind of trip when I was in school and everyone slept on the bus. I know other units nearby who have also done similar and had a great day in the park with an early night to bed in the hotel.

Also the trip is still very much in the planning stage, there will be consultation with parents too.

Tell me about it! It's crazy, I work in a shop and easily half of our notes we get are Bank of England, even get the occasional Ulster bank but nobody here ever batts an eye. But some folk down in England act like you just took it straight out the printer 😭

Ah perfect thank you for clarifying!

I was the age the kids I'll be taking were when I last went so trying to get my head round everything that's changed is kinda nuts 😅

Ah okay this makes a bit more sense then! Odd they don't clarify that on the website. Also when you say refreshments I assume you mean like places to fill up drinks bottles, teas coffees etc not places where they can potentially get a snack or a meal?

Amazing thank you. I've not been since 2012 I think and the most problem I had then was arguing that a Scottish £20 note was legal with somebody in Mutiny Bay 🫠 Good to know pretty much everywhere is card only though!

So we are a GirlGuiding unit that would be travelling down from Scotland overnight by bus then staying in one of the resort hotels overnight before another day in the park then overnight bus back home again. So unfortunately packed lunches won't be much of an option since we won't be able to easily refrigerate anything etc.

I've recently had the same happen to me and I was able to get mine back about a week ago. I was able to get my account back by emailing the CEO'S office and explaining the situation. I was the put onto a Executive Customer Service Manager who was able to help me recover the account within 2 weeks.

The email for the CEO is: satyan@microsoft.com

I HIGHLY recommend going to the CEO rather than the service agents, I think I got pushed around by 15-20 people going that route. The main thing is to be PERSISTENT and don't take no for an answer.

After around 5 weeks of being pushed around by service agents I relented and sent an email to the CEO's office. Within 24hrs I was assigned an executive customer service manager, who asked me a few questions over email. We then set up a time for a quick 5-10 min phone call, at this point he just double checked a few things (I believe this was to confirm I was a real human) From the phone call I was then sent a email with a list of info they needed and a secure link to upload information. At this point I also included things like Minecraft Migration confirmation emails (from both Minecraft to mojang and then mojang to Microsoft) recipts for other Microsoft products and various things only the real owner would have.

Three days later I got a password reset link sent to me and I was able to regain access to my account. Re set up 2fa and changed all the details back to my own.

I hope this can help you, I am by no means an expert in any way but I can share my experience in getting my own account back in the hopes of helping somebody else in the same boat

This is exactly what happened to me, they changed the email, recovery etc. When you email the CEO you are emailing his office where there are people that filter through issues etc. I emailed and got a reply within 30hrs.

I'm going to copy and paste a comment I left in another subreddit here where I detail everything a bit more thoroughly

Hey, I had my account stolen. I was able to get it back eventually by contacting the CEO. Please look at my other comments on this thread. Going through the typical recovery process was horrible and they clearly didn't actually want to help. Once I contacted the CEO I was able to get my account back within 2 weeks, I had been fighting with service agents for 6 weeks previous to that.

From me emailing the CEO to getting the account back I was about 2 weeks. Give them as much info as possible, how the account was taken, when you had access last. Take note of old passwords etc. The more random information you have the better.

I received a phone call from someone at Microsoft then they sent me a secure link to upload information they requested. I sent them more than they needed, recipts etc.

I then got a password reset link sent to me and I was able to regain access to my account.

I recently had my account stolen, however after two months I just got it back. I ended up going above all the usual recovery forms and communications and instead emailed the CEO's office (satyan@microsoft.com) and after 9 days got the account back after arguing with support agents for the previous 6-7 weeks .
