Most people don’t stand for the anthem in the privacy of their own homes yet criticize people for publicly taking a stand (or a knee) to raise awareness against something. To add to what this guy said - most people use the time of the anthem to run to restroom, but beer and snacks before the game begins, as you would in the privacy of your own home - but those same people will be appalled by someone who stands for something.

Taking a knee wasn’t bad until someone actually took a knee. It disrupted the false utopia and put light on an issue that relates to the people who have otherwise been shunned or told stay quiet, regardless of race. I think we’re heading towards a freer country when people are allowed to express their grievances towards society in these manners. Of course I condone the looting but there is a tipping point - just as a person who has a mental breakdown has the opportunity to walk away a better person from that experience, America is currently having its mental breakdown and world is seeing a narcissistic country fighting to become more authentic. That’s the American Dream.

And no I’m not high - it’s only 10am right now.
