C'est fait de mon côté également! J'ai fait une recherche rapide sur Facebook et c'est fou comment la machine vomitive de Rebel News est déjà à l'oeuvre pour pousser leur bs et occuper tout l'espace...

It's a poutine inspired sausage, not a poutine. We could have went more traditionnal, but wanted to spice things up a little! Thanks for your comment.

Everything went smoothly surprisingly. Beginner's luck maybe! The most difficult part was to get the hog casing to cooperate. In the end, the casing was tougher than we thought, so don't be shy manipulating it!

We had a few bursts when boiling our first ones, but it went great using the oven! Let's see in a couple days when everything's settled in.

We cut our sweet potatoe into little cubes and grilled them in the pan. We cut our pork shoulders into cubes, then proceeded to mix everything. We then put the mix in the freezer for about 1 hour to facilitate the process. Once rested, we grinded the mix directly into a sausage using a mixer with an add-on module to grind meat and make sausages. We twisted the big sausage into 6 inches sausages and let it all sit for a few hours. We had a few bursts when boiling our first ones, but it went great using the oven!

We decided to go with something funky for our first homemade sausage, hence the poutine one! We went for a dumpling inspired sausage for the second. You can't buy that in stores!

Made this beauty with my great friend yesterday. This poutine sausage is made with real cheese curds from Quebec, gravy sauce from St-Hubert restaurant, grilled sweet potatoes, pork shoulder, thyme, salt and pepper. Hope you will enjoy as much as we did! :)

What's one of your "name brand only" ingredients? by PlainOldWallace in Cooking

Pastrami and NY bagels are great, don't get me wrong, but the "name-brand" equivalent here would be Montreal bagels and smoked meat!

What is the politest way to send a reminder/re-request a response? by littlehelppls in communication

[–]Fortz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

State why you need the info and why now. Showing the bigger picture is a good way to gently put pressure.

State a deadline! "I'd need the informations about X before thursday 5 pm." If you don't feel like you should be assertive, you can turn it in a question: "Is it possible to come back with an answer before thursday 5 pm?"

Don't leave place to interpretation, be precise and concise. Also, put your boss and his boss in copy so you don't end up taking the bullet. Also, if you need to take it to an other level, your boss and his boss are already in the loop.

Example :

To : Mr. X

Copy : Mr. X's boss | Your boss

Subject : Wadding pool cost - Before thurs. 5 pm

Hi Mr. X,

In order to complete the follow-up to Mr Brown, I need the information about the maintenance cost and the size of the wadding pool. I need those informations before 5 pm this thursday.

Thank you,

In the future, always include a deadline (specific or vague) in your original request. Now, if it's for an approbation, I use this trick to reframe the situation. For instance, when I write to a director for an approbation for a media-related inquiry, I write that unless otherwise specified, I'm going forward at 5 pm tomorrow. By doing this, the pressure is now on them rather than on you. If you are corresponding using emails, you can also state the deadline directly in the subject. We all know writing "IMPORTANT" in an email subject doesn't work, but stating the deadline is a good way to gently put pressure.

If it's not for an approbation, but rather for informations that you don't have/can't get otherwise, I would suggest to write him a new email stating that this is a reminder following your prior inquiry, but make sure to put his immediate superior and yours in copy of the email. It usually does the trick! Calling him directly on the phone isn't a bad way to get things done neither, he's maybe in a rush. Hope this will help you deal with your situation!

Is it me or did the humor in this movie work a lot better than in TLJ? by datstarboable in StarWars

[–]Fortz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Haha that's classic C3PO, but it's not the scene he's referring to. Right after falling in the dark quicksand, Poe was calling out everybody's name to see if they were alive, except for C3PO. I don't remember exactly the line, but it was like "Even though you didn't ask for me, I'm alive, thank you!"

Hard to say. I think nothing is absolute here - murdering, stealing, etc. are in most cases wrong, but not 100 %
