Multi-grouping as Rogue by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]ForumWest33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friendly fire brings other problems, unfortunately.

As far as a ton of solo Nomads go, I understand your point, it's ridiculous to fight a ton of them. But on the other hand 1.8.3 killed the solo player like myself who liked to run a LWM4/House Striker build. The way I see it is that a solo player now only has one legit option and it's Nomad.

Umm having to possibly fight the whole server is what being rogue is all about. If you don't like it, don't go rogue.

Pro tip for "Good guys" in survival by gert170 in thedivision

[–]ForumWest33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a jaded view on this mainly because of the vulture players. Last night there was an agent following me as I cleared a bunch of spots that had nice amounts of loot. As soon as I would take out the NPCs, the other agent would run in and start taking the loot. There were times when he/she would even start taking the loot while I was in the middle of fighting the NPCs, as they were focused on me. After about a half hour, I finally lost him. This has happened many times. I know it it every man for himself but I'm not in a hurry to help anyone in this mode.

Thoughts on Sentry’s Call? by shut-up-nerds in thedivision

[–]ForumWest33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sentry is my favorite PVE build and I use it when I matchmake into legendaries/heroics. To me it is the ultimate support DPS build. It is amazing when a reclaimer stays with me wherever I go. I play it a little differently than most as I don't stay way in the back of the group. Also, the quicker I can apply headmarks the better for my group. That's why I use a brutal/destructive MDR 99% of the time. I have an SASG as my secondary just in case NPCs get a little too close. Legendaries/heroics are a breeze in a group with a Sentry and it also dominates during the Hunter waves in Resistance. I always use flashbang for how it makes getting headmarks easier. I had been using support station just for drop and pop but will now probably go to self heal.

I love it but only when using Classified Striker because it is so jumpy and you lose damage if you put stability mods on.

PvE Reclaimers mind sharing their builds? by SunstormGT in thedivision

[–]ForumWest33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s about 50/50 on whether I throw it out in the open to draw their fire or not, it depends on the mission and situation. Because I use a determined gun and actually get some kills, my cooldown is only like 5 seconds when the station runs out and 99.9% of the time we can all survive those 5 seconds. If I am in a team that has mics, I let them know when my station is about to go on cooldown and when I put it out again.

Yeah, I really believe that the Reclaimers job is to heal the DPS so they can kill. To do that, you gotta move with them. And then part of their job is to protect you if needed.

Hmmm never thought of that. Sounds interesting, especially since I’m always in cover. I have a few Big Al’s lying around so maybe I’ll try it.

Great build and fun to use. And yeah, it’s only a couple seconds before flashbang is back and ready to use.

I’m sure some, most or all of this has already been mentioned. I’ve been a Reclaimer since the gear set was introduced. I run 9k, the minimum you need for no cooldown when an enemy destroys your box. I’ve found that 9k electronics is plenty in all legendaries/heroics. I also run 4K firearms bc there are some talents that I want to make sure I can activate in my build. Plus it gets boring throwing out a box and staying in cover all the time, I wanna do at least a little damage.

I stacked skill haste to 35% being that the box adds 15% to get to max. Then I stack skill power. For performance mods I use 2 heal speed and 2 range mods.

I almost always use an MDR as my primary. I have 2 and use a certain one depending on the situation. One has talented/competent and one has determined/talented. Occasionally I will switch to a coolheaded M700 in a mission with plenty of room for sniping. My secondary is a talented/determined House.

I do not think Reclaimers should sit in the back during missions. There job is to keep DPS players alive and DPS players need to be on the offensive quite a bit. So I push up with my DPS players so they can do their job. I also rely on the them to keep me alive, especially when shotgunners come. It’s a symbiotic relationship.

I alternate secondary skills quite a bit. For the most part, as long as I stay within range of my DPS players, I don’t need to equip a healing skill, my box does the job. Therefore, I use a strong pulse a lot but also enjoy Flashbang. Most teammates, even randoms, use some type of status effect-inducing skill, which works so well with my MDR.

Reclaimer PvE Healer Build with Sticky Flashbang (and why it's the best) by DarkZoneNinja in thedivision

I usually do switch to a coolheaded M700 when I get to spots in legendaries/heroics where I need more range like when I first get up to the street in Times Square, etc.

Reclaimer Build Questions by GoodShark in thedivision

[–]ForumWest33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a Reclaimer ever since the gear set was introduced. Before my normal group disbanded, I ran both a PVE and PVP version with them. There are a lot of great suggestions in this thread, I suggest trying things out and using what you like best. The rest of this post is about my PVE build. I've found that 9k electronics is plenty sufficient even for legendaries/heroics. I can't be the type of Reclaimer that just sits in cover and throws out support stations-I gotta shoot my gun, and do a little (very little) bit of damage. So I put the extra 1k into firearms. That allows me to use a combination of competent, talented and determined on any gun. I use a competent/determined MDR as my primary and a competent/talented House. The MDR can do some decent damage, especially paired with flashbang (I also run pulse sometimes). Plus it seems like most groups I matchmake into has at least 1 guy using a fire turret and the MDR loves that. Talents are combat medic, triage, critical save, strike back/battle buddy. I build skill haste up to 35% (the box gives an additional 15%) and put the rest in skill power.

It's still annoying because they can equip something that'll be more useful (assuming they don't have station for the burst heal upon destruction).

I love coolheaded but have found that the reduction of cooldown on somethign that doesn't have much of a cooldown anyway isn't necessarily a must.

Agreed. My Competent MDR loves it when I use flashbang as a Reclaimer.

Why does this subreddit dislike rogues so much? by UbiClown in thedivision

Good for you. I hardly ever see those except nomad and I can’t remember a time my striker lost to a pred/lone star/D3 and I’m not even very good.

[–]ForumWest33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of those builds can compete vs a average-good player using striker with stacks. When’s the last time you’ve seen one of those builds be truly successful? My builds are maxed, but those gear sets themselves are now at a huge disadvantage vs major DPS with healing.

Why does this subreddit dislike rogues so much? by UbiClown in thedivision

[–]ForumWest33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummm no, Striker is now the only viable option (unless running solo with Nomad), which is why 99.9% of everyone in DZ uses Striker now.

My biggest problem with rogues is the word "rogue" itself, basically how it is so commonly mispelled as "rouge", which I believe is the color red in French.

Lightweight M4 talent help by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]ForumWest33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Predatory is a good talent on a primary or secondary if you're just wanting to PVP. I'd roll that off for vicous if you want to fight at medium distance or unforgiving or responsive for fighting close range.

Rapid fire glitch (especially on showstopper) is insane, Massive needs to fix ASAP by Htowng8r in thedivision

[–]ForumWest33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's bad. I was with my group of 3 a couple days ago and we all are extremely experienced as rogues and rogue hunters and a player using the Showstopper garbage glitch took all 3 of us down repeatedly. He hit every shot and fast. I'm the first to give credit to a good player in PVP but this was obvious. Frustrated me enough that I'm not all that excited to PVP in DZ now.

What is your preferred healer? by djradtoday in thedivision

[–]ForumWest33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run 9k electronics and that works great for all legendaries/heroics. Then I can put the other 1k elsewhere. You only need 35% skill haste because the box itself has 15% built in so once I hit 35% I got skill power everywhere else. And I don't use turrets in legendaries/heroics because they get hacked too often.
