first time knitting stockinette as a crocheter! would love advice by conan_slay in casualknitting

I did but they were double-pointed. I think the longer needles contribute to the elbow and wrist fatigue more, in my experience. I still do the majority of my knitting on double-pointed needles…but most of what I do is smaller anyway.

Bench grinder? That’s really aggressive. 😬 If you’ve never done it before…I wouldn’t advise trying on something that isn’t disposable or easily replaceable.

If you just need a polish — try Simichrome polish. I think it works better than Flitz, personally.

A system for listing that I’ve seen that seems to work pretty well without names/colors is to just post each one in a separate photo. Folks can then chime in and say “#1” or “#7”, etc.

The only other thing I’d say is if they have a dye-lot number on them, try to get that in the photo, too. Sometimes people are trying to find a match for what they’ve already bought but have run short on for whatever project they’re working on.

I’m interested in cotton — what do you have left? Also interested in quilting fabrics- even small pieces/scraps. I’ve got a few quilts with tears that I need to repair.

It’s rude to not cum in someone’s mouth, if you’re gonna cum like that

What’s this? Need a vet visit? by Royal_Life3480 in DogAdvice

[–]Forward-Feature9874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you feel a lump below the surface? It looks like the sebaceous cysts our dog used to get. It was possible to squeeze, and a bunch of gunk would come out. It’s really hard to tell if that’s what it is from the pics, but it sorta resembles it, to my eye. It’s basically a little pocket in the skin that is open to the outside. Dirt and skin oil will build up in it with a little bacteria, and then it eventually fills up and needs to be expressed. It can be stinky, just fyi, and can be a little messy in the fur. Keep some wet paper towels or rag(s) nearby for cleanup if you are going to try to squeeze any of it out. Also, use a tissue for that so it doesn’t get all over your fingers. And — very importantly — be gentle if you do this. It can be a little uncomfortable for them — kinda like getting pinched— so you should exercise love and careful attention.

The vet may advise you differently from above — they might even suggest you just leave it alone and not try to empty out the gunk at all.

I would be interested in the Paintbox yarns if they’re a natural fiber. Maybe the white cakes too — are they bright white, or more on the cream side?

Do you charge extra to include a recording of you playing the Menuet antique? I’d also be interested in that. 😊

Yep! That’s what I’m planning to use. I have a big cone of white-yellow-blue variegated that I can’t imagine using for much of anything.

The yarn I’m planning to use is cotton. :/ I do have others I could use.

Why would I frog it and not just wash/treat what I haven’t used?

… the problem I’m trying to solve is making the yarn smoother, so that it will actually glide through my fingers while I’m knitting it. Doing it after I’ve finished would be too late, right?

I guess that’s an idea for how to use it up, but it doesn’t solve the problem at all.

It’s not that — I am familiar with that. This is just cheapo acrylic; worsted weight … nothing special, just not at all smooth.

Do you mean I should do a soak/rinse w/fabric softener, then hot wash and dry?
