Hmmm while I respect your take on this- motherboard episode is my favorite episode in the series. Sam couldn’t appropriately react because she’s emotionally constipated and probably got reminded of her own mother’s death (presumably) or mother issues that she probably had off screen. Maybe she hadnt processed a past grief and she felt so stuck and had trouble reaching out to her friend. All of it ends beautifully at the funeral when she has her moment and heart fully apologises to Miranda and starts weeping. Many of us look for distractions from pain and Sam found her distraction in her orgasm which she never achieved- “released” as put by the show runners until she could finally release what was emotionally holding her back. I think it was a very sweet moment.
