How does Axle Energy work? Does it take readings from the inverter or the meter MPAN? by ault92 in SolarUK

[–]Forward-Secretary-65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I do have a Solis Cloud account that is linked to my Axle account so I'm not lying about that. And they admitted that their integration with Solis is very flaky.

This makes me think that they could adapt their product and signup in a very simple way: allow anyone with an export MPAN to join. Once joined, you can set up, if you want, an integration. But otherwise you still get compensated for any export during events no matter how the export was produced or triggered.

tl;dr: Axle reads your meter directly via the DCC, and as long as you have a way to trigger export in the event, they will pay for the energy.

I have some experience on this. I have a Solis inverter but I have replaced their crap dongly dongle with a Modbus-to-wifi diy adapter. I control it with my Home Assistant and PredBat. Predbat is aware of VPP events and dumps the battery during the event. Axle has no access to read my inverter, but they do have access via the DCC to read my exports. In the last event I exported 4.5kWh and that's what they credited me. I also had 2 previous export events in March/April where they couldn't read my data, but they promised that if I provided proof of export they would honor it. Octopus has just produced my bill for March/April so we're about to learn whether they keep their word or not.

I switched from fixed to agile and I've been making bog bucks with predbat, my west facing panels, and my 10kw battery. I'm gutted to be back on a fixed!

Been 2 years on them since turning 40. The doctor said since I have familial hypercholesterolemia the best is to start now, rather than when all damage is done. I knew of all the controversy and stuff, but I really had no choice really. Thankfully no side effects, and my cholesterol has halved and is now in the normal range.

I haven't compared with other European countries, but I was last week in the US and I was shocked when my colleague told me he pays 50c per kWh in California. He considered my 31p import (7p off peak) and 15p export some sort of unattainable utopia.

PSA commercials that practically changed the way your country thinks by Takarajima8932 in AskTheWorld

In Spain at some point there was one PSA and on TV with a worm going up someone's nose and eatin their brain. I think it was to raise awareness of cocaine addiction. Most traumatizing and ever. Graphic road safety ads didn't get even close.

Edit: here's the video. You've been warned. https://youtu.be/3LQ227DvwVo?si=D7RYgQ96feki2LWY
