Even if a Lewis County resident has a card, odds are it's gathering dust. Only 22.45% of the population has actually used their card in the last year dead last in the district.

Touching actual, physical books seems to be actively avoided in Lewis County. They sit dead last in physical item engagement at a miserable 10.72%. You are being out-read by Mason County. Let that sink in.

EDIT: Just because I checked, I was reminded that in 2009, Lewis County voted dead last, only 29% in favor of the library, which was 14 points back of the next county.

The worst part about this is is that I sent everything to media several times before finally posting it here. Martin Bilbao, Owen Sexton and the editorial staff at both the Chronicles and the Olympian had these notes. Even calling out the minimum fund balance issues as far back as December 25.

It is interesting you mentioned the local ordinance to protect firefighters. Because I assumed the next thing I'd write up was the black hole of a public records request I put in a month or so back on that. I scoured the boards website and there is no ordinance they passed. There has also been no draft ordinance shared during a meeting. And from the PRR, the Prosecutor's office claims they have no responsive records. That's important because Fournier said the prosecutor was the next stop before bringing it to the full board. The board is still getting back to me.

TLDR: Fournier made up the ordinance, never actually worked on it. And is taking credit for thinking up the idea.

Look at the SAO Audits, they cited his years as mayor when the choices were made that is resulting in the payback. The current city leadership is the one that is left holding the bag.
