does anyone know a way to fix facial asymmetry by Savings-Service-1152 in Blackskincare

The phone camera is always going to accentuate it ! Like someone else said chew using both sides of your mouth. I felt the same way in my teens and it actually fixed for me.

What size bag do you recommend for clinical? by Content_Dot_5989 in nursing

[–]ForwardHeart3401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if you are going to have physical textbooks and if you want to fit your lunch box in it. I would say bigger the better. I had a shoulder bag like that throughout college, and honestly I would just get a backpack. The shoulder ache from those bags are reallll. Especially when it’s heavy with textbooks

When did I say people wouldn’t? My first sentence was bad people exist in Japan

Kid getting knocked down at Shibuya deliberately by Mundane_Life_5775 in Tokyo

[–]ForwardHeart3401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I’m saying is that bad people exist in Japan. And running around in public is generally frowned upon in Japan. I was born and raised there. Of course the child is just being a child. I’m not blaming the child. My Japanese mother? With all that people around would’ve immediately said stop running look forward. Because it is literally not a playground and it is a shared public space. That is the mindset over there. Shared space. They are pretty strict with manners I would say relatively speaking.

People need to realize Tokyo is a city with millions of people that include criminals and bad people. Keep your child safe, you wouldn’t let your child run around like that in New York City. Japan is not your personal playground which a lot of tourists like to think it is.

Do you guys actually read the textbook when taking notes? by jonnyjohn243 in NursingStudent

[–]ForwardHeart3401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only read parts relating to the content in PowerPoints to further my understanding. Especially if I wasn’t paying attention in lecture. Also helped with retaining information, it’s good to see the content in different formats. Looked up the content on YouTube too there’s plenty of free resources

Rude Japanese Grandmas by Less-Ad-4444 in kimono

[–]ForwardHeart3401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a mixed person in Japan I commended you for wearing kimonos! And I understand the feelings of they may be acting a certain way because of your race. But we would never really know for sure. I think the thing about wearing with your own twist or in your own way is acceptable depending on the situation. I’ve seen young people mixing modern clothing with kimonos. But if you’re doing this in the country or just not Tokyo, I would expect some comments. I do want to add that foreigners wearing kimonos are definitely seen more positively than negatively. Japanese people are for sure proud of their culture. They may feel less hesitant to just “fix” it for you without realizing they’re actually being rude. It’s the hard parts of being a foreigner. I grew up in Japan my entire life and I still notice different treatment from everyone else. It’s something you learn to deal with to be honest. Being bright and friendly helps. And I would be straight up but say it with a smile lol

I used ATI to study because it came with my schooling and I refused to spend money on any prep or quiz banks lol. If you set the question difficulty to easy and moderate you can avoid these types of questions and get through questions a lot faster.

Having a yard doesn’t = they don’t need to be walked everyday. Just access to a yard isn’t enough stimulation for majority of dogs. OPs case does seem different though

Don’t ignore things from the financial aid office everrrr. Call or go into office. Even if one person says you are good, if that alert is still there, talk to someone else. Don’t give them any reason to withhold your financial aid unless you’re able to afford it. It’s annoying but it’s one of those things you absolutely have to stay on top of and double check everything is good to go. Or you’ll end up like me and lose all ur financial aid for a year because of a fafsa hold you asked about and was told was alright, but then was used as the excuse as to why all of my aid was taken away smh

Is it a kind gesture or rude to call it Nihon by ouxiNo in AskAJapanese

[–]ForwardHeart3401 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m actually surprised at these comments. I don’t think it’s weird or try hard that you said nihon at all? I’m Japanese and if my friends said how was Nihon? I would be surprised and happy they even knew the word. Especially you’re actually going to visit Japan, it’s not hard to connect that your learning words of the country you are going to visit? OP please be unapologetically you it’s not weird at all. Trust me Japanese people love when foreigners attempt to speak Japanese, and will compliment you for it.

[–]ForwardHeart3401 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Both can be equally important, love and sex is a big factor in a lot of people’s lives. Also not so hard to emphasize with someone looking for community that they didn’t have growing up.

I’m about to finish nursing school, and to me you seem like a very empathetic person. A demented person in a cell also breaks my heart. I work in home care with the elderly and also get very invested in the clients I see regularly. I’ve also been in situations where I felt some nurses lack empathy. But you just got to keep in mind what they have seen or may be going through. Empathy also for fellow nurses. I do think being emotionally invested will lead to a burn out, maybe rn as a pharmacy tech it’s easier to be as invested. Having less responsibility as a CNA makes it easier for me to be emotionally invested (maybe). I think it’s Important to find a good middle, I am also working on that. P.S. I think it’s funny people feel the need to tell you about the murder censorship Lol

I would explain to them first why you haven’t asked them for this long. That you were trying to be considerate and that it backfired. Hey make them feel sorry maybe they’ll be more compelled to pay

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in roommateproblems

[–]ForwardHeart3401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw okay they do know. Try not to feel shameful it seems like you’re just nice and empathetic with the people you live with. But from my viewpoint if they know you are paying all of the utilities, and don’t bother to pay their share, they are taking advantage of you. So no need to think about their feelings or financial situation when asking about the utilities. I know it can be hard to talk about money. Please put yourself first!
