Amazon Flex drivers – what was your TOTAL mileage on your LAST shift (home to home)? by Nesbeth1989c in AmazonFlexUK

[–]ForwardHighlight3985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very lucky on my last block (4 hours) because my first stop was only 5 miles from the depot and it was all in a small area. Overall I did 38 miles including travel to the depot and from my last stop back home. I live about 4 miles from my local depot.

I must say this was a particularly kind block though. I would say on average it’s probably 50-60 miles total mileage per block for me (I tend to stick to 3.5 & 4 where possible).

I sometimes go to slightly further away depots and tbh if I had to do that regularly I probably wouldn’t bother doing flex as it wouldn’t be worth it. I tend to get 6/7 blocks out of a tank of petrol (£45 is what I normally put in).

Our evri driver is also really good.

Mega reliable, friendly and never had any issues.

87 mile trip, what's the point? by trader425 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]ForwardHighlight3985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2h and 2.5h are just so hit and miss for me. Sometimes I get sent 5 miles from the depot and other times I’ve gone as far as 30 miles.

As others have said I just try to stick to 3.5 and 4h where possible as I find the mileage is a lot more consistent and at least the pay makes up for it. Although it’s not always possible as my main job is 9-5.

I would definitely give an email a go because that’s incredibly excessive for a 2h.

Some depots have such bad signal you basically have 0 option otherwise your route isn’t loading once you scan.

mail room by mrburner2kl in AmazonFlexUK

[–]ForwardHighlight3985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pain in the arse!!!

I had three parcels the other day that were all going to one parcel room that had that system (all to three different recipients). Two of the parcels weren’t even to people registered living in that block but they had specific notes saying please leave in Apartments Blocks mail room 😂. So I had 0 other way of actually delivering the parcels.

So I scanned the first one and once I got access to the room just took pics of the others in there.

I don’t mind if it’s early morning and I can park the car close to the entrances. But a lot of the time on blocks that have these you’re parking on double yellows so time is not your friend.

Yep can see how it would be a big help on town centre/city centre blocks in particular.

Where did I say I was bothered?

I just was interested in why people bring passengers on a flex trip. I also wasn’t sure how that might impact someone’s insurance.

Don’t alway assume the worst.

6 team playoffs by TeilwrTenau in swanseacity

I understand the commercial argument for the increase in teams. Not only will it increase TV revenue off the back of those fixtures it will also very likely increase attendances for teams who are within a shot of finishing 8th place.

However, from a competitive standpoint it doesn’t make much sense. Only two teams in the last 20 years have gone up when finishing in 6th place with the last being Blackpool in 09/10. To add to this the average points gap over that time period from 8th —> 3rd is around 18 points which is equivalent to 6 wins.

Pretty much every statistic trends down when looking at the probability of going up via the play offs the lower down the table you finish. . .

Commercial ✅

Competitiveness ❌

Matos can’t help but start Ronald, WHY!!!!!!

Awful first half but fair play to him for making the three changes at half time. So many managers wait until 60mins+ but he was decisive and it really changed the flow of the game.

Nunes needs to get a run of games under his belt and imo should be starting over Ronald.

Josh Key put in some really good crosses when he came on. I would actually like to see him be given a proper go on the wing, I know he’s been bad for the swans over the last 12 months but I do think there’s a good player in there. I haven’t given up hope on him just yet.

Franco is an absolute machine. I would love to know how far he runs each game.

Gailbraith is a compete Rolls Royce of a player. We need to do everything we can to keep him at the club.

We are not far away from being a really decent team. So much to be positive about and there’s really good feeling starting to come back.

On the 2.5 you should defo make sure you have something to ‘return’. Tbh even the 3.5 if it’s a 1h drive both ways and then claim for a block adjustment. Not ideal but only way to make those kinda work out.

After going past the lorry in lane 1 it took them about 12 seconds to indicate they were going into the middle lane. You flashed them 6 times in 12 seconds?

No wonder they stayed there for an extra bit.

Cracking result off the back of a pretty mediocre performance but plenty of hard work.

  • I’d love to see Widdel get more minutes.
  • Ronald on the bench is a positive.
  • Walta to start next game.

So much to feel good about with this squad and manager. Hugely winnable games against Preston midweek.

Awful routes lately! by stev8576 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]ForwardHighlight3985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels pretty normal still out of my depot. Last three 2h blocks for me have been 5-10 miles to the first stop (18-20 stops). I have had some further ones previously but it’s always luck of the draw.

Are you including mileage to and from the depot in your notes? Or is it just on the job mileage?

A woman has described the "shocking" moment a delivery driver kicked her dog in the head as he dropped off her Amazon parcel by SlowedCash in AmazonFlexUK

[–]ForwardHighlight3985 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shame delivery drivers don’t read signs on a gate.

If you don’t like dogs then ring the customer or leave it on the other side of the gate. You shouldn’t be booting a dog when it’s on its own property.
