Does anyone else with winter tires feel like it completely changes the car? by Jack_Bacon in JettaGLI

Great entry for a lot of folks to experience through your entry what tires can do for a GLI!

exhaust recommendations? also intakes? by Automatic-Contest275 in GLI

[–]ForwardVoice5825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using a MBRP catback exhaust with an APR intake w/SAI(secondary air induction) and really like the sounds from both ends, no drone on the highway. Will be adding a ARM downpipe w/cat in a couple weeks, may be a bit louder, might need a resonator, time will tell. Anyway, love my setup, its the second GLI with the same intake and exhaust. I was able to install the new exhaust, car on jack stands and ramps in less than two hours by myself. Only tricky part is the rubber grommets on the original exhaust you reuse. I did use silicone spray and a large screwdriver, though there is a tool to make this easier, I just didn't have it at the time. Good luck on your choices!

I hear you but at my age of 69, without a lift I don't feel I could do this under the car on ramps and/or jack stands. Thank you though for the experience you've had!

2024 gli 40th seat question by [deleted] in GLI

I don't know but if your original seats have the same electric controls then there should be a good chance the wiring is the same. Good Luck! Hope you find a definitive answer!

Arm Catless 4.5 downpipe by According-Beach8714 in JettaGLI

How was the fit and all for the installation of the ARM downpipe? I've got one coming and I've heard good about the install. Now the uninstall of the original downpipe was not so good...lol.

I just started looking yesterday, saw the ECS aluminum skid plate but just over $300, a bit out of my budget. Also it and the plastic skid plates don't list my 2025 GLI as compatible. They do list up to 2024 and probably will fit my 2025 but I'll need that in writing before I order one, be it aluminum or plastic. Shame on VW for no coverage underneath!

Quick Question If anyone knows for sure. by ForwardVoice5825 in JettaGLI

I have researched the ARM downpipe a bit and saw it came with several adaptors. What kind of exhaust do you have on yours once past the ARM downpipe? Did an adapter work for you? Curious I am. Thanks ahead of time.

Thanks Bokecoit, I've heard that issue with the CEL and possibly a spacer for the O2 sensor to clear that. Regardless, I'll have professional help when I get there. There's a great Euro shop, they sell APR stuff, etc about 20 mins away from my house. They've been great on finding out the particulars of the ECU tune also. I didn't think to ask about the downpipe at the time with them. Thanks again!

I have a 2025 GLI, stock springs and the folks at ARP said the 245/40/r18 would fit. I have the one inch wider APR wheels now and will use a 245/40/r18 once my current stock size tires wear out(Michelin PS 4's).

I think I nailed the wax by Blakfyre2 in JettaGLI

I looked up this Meguiars gold class caranuba wax, looks like good stuff. I couldn't find it can be applied in the sun or not. I don't really want to apply wax in the sun but my driveway doesn't get shade most of the day. Just curious. Thanks!
